Oh, a comparison of the two would be great.

I would go with xlr as it seems to me like a safer solution. The Emotiva mini-X has common ground but afaik not all amps are made like this.

In that future updated review, I'm also going to throw in the LCD-2 Revision 2 along with the HE-500 for O2 vs Emotiva, for those that might be interested.

It's still a speaker amp. IMO has to much gain for sensitive headphones. Not much volume knob play. The Emotiva will take the closed in and congested sound right out of the LCDs. If you thought it had that in the first place.
I can't seem to find what I'm looking for - Maybe you guys can help. I'm looking for a product similar to the one in the pic below, but it seemed more refined. As I recall it had 3 outputs with different gain and no volume knob. It is meant to be connected to the outputs of an speaker amplifier.
What about if one had a preamp in their dac function
Hi Anda,
Are you thinking of the APPJ Headphone Adapter that I discussed on page 24 of this thread?
It seems that ALO is no longer carrying the product. The link I provided in that post is now dead and searching the ALO site just now, I can no longer find the product, but I've updated that post with another source you might try.
