Hello hykhleif,

You won't be able to output 24/192 and be able to use V4A whatever phone / player you use.

i got when u mention about fiio x7

but you say no phone or player outputs 24/192, i am just confused now, as i thought that i can get an output of 24/192 when i use for example chord mojo and onkyo hf player, so why does the light colour change on mojo from different file rates when i use onkyo hf player. Or do u mean just with v4a and android players

honestly i am totally confused now

You asked about using V4A. Your Onkyo player / mojo combo works, but would not be able to pass audio through V4A (you won't get any of its audio effects) unless you disable Onkyo's USB HF driver and let the audio pass through the Android system--because V4A is an *Android system* EQ. In this case you are limited to 44.1 or 48kHz.

Looks like B&H has the K5 available now to dock with the X7, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1217423-REG/fiio_k5_docking_headphone_amplifier.html

I can't imagine 44.1 or 48kH being a limit. I think the limit is our hearing acuity as a species, but I digress.

The maximum recordable frequency of PCM audio is half the sample rate, or a teeny bit lower if you take into account ADC / DAC conversion losses. Which means 22.05kHz or 24kHz respectively for 44.1 and 48kHz sample rates. Which is just close enough to the upper limit of human hearing as to elicit endless debates over whether the limit and its secondary effects are audible.

Well, we both know there is a way to really demonstrate the inaudibility of these higher sample rates ....but we aren't allowed to discuss such things outside of the sound science forum. I know at our last head-fi meet I set-up one of these unmentionable things to test whether people could detect the difference between the 320 mp3 version of a file and the lossless version. 7 people, 4 trials each of the pairing, nobody did better than 50%, some worse.

 @JamesFiiO

If you guys are redoing the balanced module you guys should try to make it more powerful.

The current specs are kinda weak... it would be better if it had the power of the medium module at least

Hello hykhleif,

Hi joe I am just trying to understand

with the following combo

galaxy note 3 ( android 5.1 ) --- mojo--- poweramp using v4a I am seeing the light indicator on the mojo representing 192/24 all the time no matter what file rate i am playing, as i think android in 5.1 upsamples to 192/24

so let say i have an album that is 44.1 using the v4a with poweramp the light indicator is on 192/24

now when i play the same album using onkyo hf player without upsampling option and no v4a , the light turns red for the same album

are you 100% sure that v4a does not output 192/24 as the light indicator on my mojo shows otherwise

i am trying to understand this and how this applies to fiio x7 and why with v4a i am getting 192/24 while with the fiio x7 you mention you can not get 192/24 using v4a
