@kenman: please quote the post you are responding to, and then post your response, like someone in another thread told you. It makes it much easier for the reader that way. thanks.
I'm not trying to defend them. I'm merely curious the situation under which you make your claims as they are unlike anyone elses thus far. I also was trying to help. But I think their is a communication error involved. Their are only two bass ports and seeing as you have AS-2's that means their actually is only 1 possible port you have. It's accessed from the side that is in your ear. The new port available on the ASG-2's is accessible from the outside, which is why Andy might have specified something to you that got confused. All AS-2's have a bass port you adjust with a supplied tool. Unless you ask for no port to be installed, In which case I guess you wouldn't have one. The whole point of the adjustable bass port is that owners like us can adjust it.
Sorry if I come off strong, I'm merely a member of Head-Fi that feels a great sense of community and when someone says something like what you've said, I try to help them out if I can and/or point them in the right direction.

"Anyone else" being two people or maybe three...and given the various contradictory feelings on the asg1, there is a chance that he might hear it differently without it being a technical problem.
Andy told me Friday that to access the screw to adjust the bass I would need to take it apart. Since you seem to know everything about them and are defending them against every negative comment or concern then perhaps you need to discuss that with him or become a paid member of their staff. I think its sad that a member of Headfi has to respond to every members concern as though its personal and like they are responsible for every members' reaction.
Andy would not have told you to take them apart to adjust the bass port. It is easily accessible from the back when the IEMs are out of the Ear. It's not meant to continually adjust bass response more of a set it like you want and leave them alone. Turning it clockwise "carefully" on both will lower the bass response a tad and should bring the highs out more.
I did speak with Andy and I believe you broke the tweeter bar out of one ear trying to clean ear wax out, so I wonder if you may have gotten ear wax clogged in the nozzle of the tweeter dampeners. I have not heard anyone complain about the level of the highs so you may have an issue with the dampeners. The tweeters are also padded down quite a bit so the level could be raised if needed for your particular taste, however, I suspect you may have potentially clogged the dampeners with ear wax.
I'd enjoy reading more impressions of the AS-2, especially as it compares to other multi-driver CIEMs. Is there bass bleed into the midrange? How large and three dimensional is the sound stage? Are the levels of detail comparable to fully BA driven options?
How much of a jump is the AS-2 over the AS-1 (both with the most up to date drivers)?
I'm wondering the same things (I know the bass is good, so I can check that off my list). This would be my first nice IEM, so I'm trying to figure out if I should go for the ASG-1.3 or save a little longer and spring for the ASG-2.

Awesome. Glad to hear they came in vocalist. How do you find the timbral accuracy of the AS-2?
