Effect Audio X Elysian Acoustic Labs New Release | GAEA - Elegant Temptation ∙ Everlasting Bliss

2 days listening time, initial impression I really like the transparency here. Good clarity, fluid treble and midrange make overall sound become natural and organic. Bass is not basshead level, but do extend till sub bass area nicely.

For the price, I think this one would be hard to beat. I can imagine Gaea will give Fibae 7U a tough competition.

Interesting set. Seems like it's competitive for its price bracket. A lot of iems seem to punch above their weight these days. Then again things get a bit specialised past $1k so pretty subjective comparisons.

Wonder how these sound with genres like rock & metal. Looks like they could be a bit thin, but maybe there's enough there or the increased clarity is worth it.

2nd paragraph first sentence is what I’m trying to find out before ordering. Anyone?

As a follow up I have found my initial reaction between the Gaea and the Axiom was premature. I had just switched out the IEM's on my FiiO M11+ Ltd and did not level match the two. The Axiom have a sensitivity of 112 compared to the Gaea's 102. Also the Axiom is a 32 Ohm IEM compared to the Gaea at 10 Ohms. This caused a significant volume mismatch between the two. Adjusting for the difference, Gaea is holding its own though I still have a slight preference for the Axiom. The Gaea is a very well balanced IEM.

Gaea vs Mest Mk2:
I have been busy with a few things and the Effect Audio x Elysian Acoustics Gaea is one of them.
Some of you might have had a go at it at the meets but let me be really clear with my impression here. I have had more than 120hrs on the IEM but I didnt got any tips with the IEM so I have used a reasonably wide, wider than the CP145 tip on the Gaea.
I have had a handful of IEMs in this price range but I used to be really fond of the Unique Melody Mest Mk2 which still is a sweet sounding IEM with very good sonics and details but the Gaea is really something else when it comes to details and transparency. Gaea nearly nails it with its precision and accuracy while maintaining excellent rhythm and timing. There is no rushed feeling with the Gaea while the Mest mk2 is on the slower side.
Where does the Gaea Excel? Exceptional transparency with superb control. Yes, those who are looking for smoother notes can find it to be slightly on the thinner side at the peak of the upper mid and treble notes. The clarity with vocals is superb. There is no metallic timber either. Sonics are very good, contrast of back and foreground is exceptional. Instrument placement and air between instruments is class leading. Stage size is very good too. Slightly less tall but wider than Mest Mk2.
The Gaea cable is equipped with Con-X and sounds as good as the Eros S.
Gaea is an IEM that is detailed and precise but balances things nicely, there is barely any sibilance but yes, it can sound a bit thin.
vs Mest Mk2: Mest mk2 is fuller and a bit more thicker than the Gaea. It has a bit more mid bass body while the sub-bass has lesser rumble. I dnt know why but Mest mk2 kind of felt bigger than the Gaea in my ears.
Feel free to have a go at my comparison video:

Hi everyone! Here's my review of the Gaea. To me, it's like a baby Annihilator 2021 that's been scaled back in terms of mid-treble smoothness. But it also carries over a lot of what makes the Annihilator 2021 great, and it has its own individual colorations - for example, a more focused bass response - that make it its own product. I must admit that I am very impressed with what EA and Elysian have pulled off at the $1300 price point.

Just got to try them and baby annihilator is right on the money.

Personally I prefer it over the QDC VX and V14. Bass control and presence is way better. Mids and treble tuning are more to my tastes. More lively and extended.

Just discovered this thread. I created a thread for the Gaea in the Portable forum and posted some impressions. I've been really enjoying this IEM.

I will also have two tour units of the Gaea-- one for the US and one for Canada. See the Watercooler Tour Thread for details and for more info when I know more. Cheers.

Would anyone say the treble might have a bit too much sizzle?

No the treble is my favorite part of this IEM. It's amazing. I find the Gaea can be just a touch strident in the upper mids at times though.

I got mine in today and I'm loving them. Some random, disparate thoughts. They can come off a little thin, but it's such a clean and engaging sound. Great separation and clarity. Staging is pretty wide for an IEM.

I still want to get some more time in before I pass full judgment on this set, but so far really good.
