That is 400$ ??? Wow

No, more around the $335 range.
Either Amazon is going to discount it down to $299 or it's going to be offered alongside the DN-2000 as a higher-tier model.

40K yen will result in in real world prices of 35K, in other words the same price as the 2000.

Me happy.

So, roughly $ 300 USD! Absolutely acceptable, especially when comparing to the so called TOTL $1000 phones. From my experience of the 2000 I have a feeling the 2000J will become a serious competitor to those phones. In a way, I think the 2000 already is. Well, these are exciting times!

Strong statement. Which $1000 phones are you talking about?

I enjoy my DN-2000, and enjoyed my FX850, more than I ever did my SE846. . .

And I assume Aero is talking about the K3003.

BTW, I demo`d the Layla and Angie yesterday for a while. . . .  10 DN2KJs for one Layla (not that that really signifies anything, just interesting)

Dopaminer is right; I'm mostly thinking about the K3003, especially since tomscy2000 partly has compared the 2000J with the K3003. Other phones in the $1000 class that come to mind (not because they share similarity with the 2000J, but because they're all approx. $1000) are the Shure SE846, FitEar ToGo 334, Sennheiser IE800, etc. I believe Westone has a $1000 phone as well? I'm sure there's a complete list somewhere!?
