Hey guys, I just got an iBasso D-Zero and was wondering how to set it up with my GS3. I know that it has been confirmed that the S3+ibasso d-zero works but i can't figure it out for the life of me!
 
This is what i've tried:
S3-->USB OTG Cable (the one that came with the ibasso)--> aux in/out-->headphones.
 
This should work from what i've heard and the ibasso recognizes the s3 as an usb host (LED on) but does not produce sound.
Tried with a different, non OTG cable, the LED does not turn on.
 
I've tried with Android 4.1.2 and 4.2.1 (CM 10.1 nightly)
 
Sound still goes through the speakers and i've tried setting charging on/off, setting gain to high/low but nothing helps.
Do i have to revert to ICS (stock)? because the S3 has recieved JB (4.1.2) i don't think that update breaks usb dac compatibility.
 
Any advice is much appreciated

It does not work with CyanogenMOD 10.
Only CM9 works.  Though not as smoothly as stock ROM.

Btw, I'm now running CM9 after using CM10 and AOKP JB several times.
I'd forgotten just how good the CM9 Stable is.  Loving it all over again!

The attach/deattach for DAC useage in CM9 is a *little* clumsier than it is on stock ROM, but it still works pretty well.  It just requires that you have at least one boot up with the DAC attached.  
So if I reboot phone, the DAC won't work again until I boot up with the DAC attached.
But then if I don't reboot overnight, the DAC still works when I go back to my car the next day.
So far, this is how it's working anyway.  I've only been able to play with it on CM9 for the last ~48 hours.

Wow. This app is working flawlessly on my Nexus 7 and Leckerton UHA-6S mkII. VERY cool. Plugged it in, immediately recognized it and started working.

It is a merry Christmas!

It is sounding very good through my new DACport LX. The sound is very close using this app versus using Jplay for Windows off of a laptop. They both seem to offer a natural, transparent sound.
 
I also look forward to some improvements in the playback function. Or alternatively, it would be nice to be able to feed the output of Neutron music player through this app to the external DAC. That way the developer could still sell the app to everyone who wants the external DAC function just for listening to music, but he would not have to reinvent the wheel with a whole new UI.

If your DAC has 2 3.5mm jacks, try plugging your headphones in the other one. Had the same problempput my phones in Aux In/Out and i couldn't control volume, hell, I didn't even need to turn the dac on. Put my phones in the other jack and voila!

I dug out my old Acoustic Research TDS202 TDS Sound Enhancement Sound System (http://www.amazon.com/Acoustic-Research-TDS202-Enhancement-1-Speaker/dp/B00005QZ16/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top) and included that in the line from my Nexus 10 to the Predator amp. I have not had a lot of time to listen, but it upped the detail and air in the sound. With that in place, I can use the Noozxoide app and get very close again to what I was hearing using the USB Audio Recorder Pro app and the Dacport LX. The Dacport Lx is already very detailed, and using it with the TDS202 almost gets too detailed and analytical. And I really like lots of detail. So I will probably go with the Noozxoide app coming out of the Nexus headphone out and feeding my TDS202 and then my Predator for most listening because that allows me to use Neutron as a music player. It gets old pretty quickly to have to load each song into the USB app and play one song at a time.
 
But I am hopeful that someday soon, there will be a more robust system for using an external DAC with Android devices, possibly released by Google as part of the next Android version. Then I will be able to play with combining the Noozxoide app and an external DAC, and also probably still use Neutron for playback. We are so close now, but not quite there yet in the convenience factor for me to want to use my external DAC for everyday listening. I will also watch to see what the USB app developer comes up with for convenient playback.
