Ibasso d zero mk2 is android compatible so that work as a choice , your best choice would be getting a unified dac and amp unit anyway for portability
The volume keys of the phone are not the volume keys of the internal amp of the phone.
The so-called volume keys of the phone are handled by software.
They can be used to take a photo.

For (digitally analog or digitally digital) volume control purposes, the volume keys of the phone can be manipulated (or not) by the Android system software, or by the music player software, or by a combination of Android system software & music player software.

In short, yes!
I have a bit of a dilemma and I'm hoping someone can give advice.
Up until now I've been using an UD110 + C&C BH + RockIt R50 on my nexus 5.
Gotta say the UD110, although better than the built-in DAC, hasn't been all that impressive from a sound quality perspective; it is now broken (3,5mm socket came off) and I'm looking into a replacement.
Here's what I've nailed it down to:
Keep the C&C BH and get
1) a UD120
2) an HiFimeDIY Sabre U2 Async
3) some other DAC
or get rid of the BH and get
4) an audioquest dragonfly 1.2
5) a Geek Out 450
6) an HRT microStreamer
7) a Teac HA-P50
What do you suggest?
Not sure if anyone has heard about the new USB dac/amp from Schiit. The all new Fulla. And it's only $80 bucks. Says that it works via OTG with android devices. http://schiit.com/products
Finally received the OTA update to Lollipop 5.01 on my stock 2013 Wifi Nexus 7, hoping that USB audio support was in place for the iFi Nano iDSD..... Not!!!
Can't find anything to switch this functionality on or off, any suggestions?
weird, this links says that your device should have usb audio support

Thanks for your reply. I did manage to get sound via the Nano, just need to make sure the Nano is turned on before you attach it to the Nexus.
Now trying different players to see if there is one which does high-res via the Nano. Used Synology DS player and Onkyo HF player (unstable) but all seem to downsample to 44.1Hz according to the green light on the Nano.
I have a Nexus 4 running Android 5.0 and I tried a Fiio E18 but it doesn't work. I get no connection. Any ideas?
N4 doesn't support USB OTG despite having android 5.0.
i think u will have to do something like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/orig-development/usb-otg-externally-powered-usb-otg-t2181820
Usb Audio Player Pro (UAPP) will do, so will HiBy.
Ah okay, thats not what I wanted to hear ^^
Thank you anyway
