I received my AKG K812 this week. I really enyoy this great K812 and sold my T1 yesterday. The AKG is a big step up of the Beyerdynamic. I also heared a HD800. And the Sennheiser only has one better attribute, a wider soundstage. But in all other terms the HD800 loose. I also have the LCD3 and both headphones complement another. This twos are the best headphones I ever heared. Unfortunately I only had a short listening to the SR009.

you haven't heard the LCD-Xs or LCD-XCS, have you?

Is AKG possibility use magnetic fluid in K812's driver's air gap? Never mind, just  meaningless murmur....

I dont think thats true! Why should they use magnetic fluid?

[quote name="Trance_Gott" In Germany now there are a few owner and I'm not only alone with the meaning 812 is better as HD800.

So i am from AUSTRIA an i think in my opinion the K812 Sounds Great better than the hd 800 but not better than my Favorite TH 900!regards from Austria Crazy NOMAX[/quote]

For me K812 and TH900 (D7000) have diametral different sound signatures -  they are like as   陰陽 / 阴阳 (Pinyin yīn yáng)

I had seen similar as I compared K1000 with D7000 too.

I dont like to speak if of both better - but they are very different!

Just noticed that the driver's bottom plate unusual "close" , especially for a  highly-wired dynamic flagship.
And as AKG's claim  "For headroom and dynamic range.

I cant help but its make me remember some tweeters' structure that with magnetic fluid inside.

For me definitly yes, but thats my opinion.

Good to hear.

The Sennheiser HD800 is being sold for 999 euro while the AKG K812 is sold for 1490 euro. You think it's worth this price difference?

(I probably won't buy the HD800 since it's not easy to drive, but I have a hard time justifying the price tag of 1490 euro)

I think the price is for both very high for a "simple" headphone

But the AKG has also a sieveking stand and its not so hard to drive. Thats finally your decision for me is the higher price of the AKG ok.

that's what I love about the K812, it's easy to drive.  If you are an fan of AKG house sound, there is nothing like the K812 and you get the incredible wide/accurate soundstage.  Our full review is schedule to go live soon.  keep an eye out for it. :)

No i never heared one of them. For real good isolation the XC is not a option for me. I'm so happy with T5p and Signature Pro. And for the X is no place in my setup between 812 and LCD3.

T5p is an amazing pair of headphones...probably the best portable headphones.  Classical music sounds sublime out of the T5ps.  It is my go-to portable HP...and light as a feather too.

Does anyone have the possibility to compare the K812 VS K340? I think both share similarities and it would be very interesting to read ;D
