Really impressed with your findings Average_Joe, and I enjoyed reading your custom review thread. I just bought the T1 Live! in february after my Etymotic ER4Ps broke (still sad about that) and after a bit of acclimitisation I posted some thoughts in another thread (http://www.head-fi.org/t/477897/acs-t1-custom-review-and-impressions-thread/180#post_8184594) which concur with yours quite closely. I noticed how busy the music gets at higher volumes although I thought that might be linked to my bad source or at least the way the sound is so warm and relaxed, it doesn't force you to actively listen closely all the time, and so I can get a bit lazy and not spend brainpower on interpreting what's going on, like I did have to with the ER4S (P not so much, it's somewhere in the middle).
To be honest I had no idea there were so many custom earphones, I thought it was pretty much a shootout between the silicone ACS headphones, (silicone is very appealing, after reading the trustedreviews website review), or a couple of choices in acrylic, (Ultimate Ears, JH Audio) so I wish I'd read your thread first, as these are a 1-in-5-years purchase for me. Am still happy with the T1Live!s though, they are a nice listening experience and while I can still imagine more detail and more clarity with slightly less rolled-off highs in the theoretical perfect headphones, these are fine for just now. Am more looking for a good DAC for my laptop and better bitrates from spotify mobile than another pair of headphones.
