What do you hope to accomplish with such insults?

I am growing quite tired of your constant condescending attitude.

That wasn't meant as an insult. Blame it on my poor English.

I'm genuinely interested in these "advanced techniques"! I played through like half of FF7 and the only "advanced technique" I could come up with is spamming summons and Ultima spells :p

The only Final Fantasy game I know of with a playable casino is XIII-2. (I know you meant the Gold Saucer, hehe...)

I'll be surprised if you knew about this:

Gold Saucer isn't a casino...? Are you sure? I mean it's probably not called one, but:
Play games for money and possibly win prizes. Sounds like a casino lol.

I'm more actually more impressed with the ebay description than the save files lol. Someone spend some good time making that pretty, informative, and legible.

Sephiroth controls himself. Meh.

Alright then, I'll let it slide...

Here is a simple one.

First, you will need:
Counter Materia
Mime Materia
Cloud's Omnislash limit break

Master as many Counter and Mime Materia as you can. The swamp area in the Northern Crater is full of enemies to build up your AP and bring your Materia to master level, which creates duplicates, so you can continue replicating them.

Equip weapons and accessories with the most paired Materia slots and pair Counter/Mime to them.

Make sure no auto-abilities are enabled; otherwise, this technique won't work.

Enter a battle against a worthy opponent. Let it attack Cloud until his limit gauge fills (or alternately, have it already filled from previous battles), then use Omnislash.

Do nothing else for the remainder of the battle. Every time Cloud is attacked, he will counter with Omnislash for as many paired Materia you have equipped. This is an effective way of dealing out hundreds of thousands of HP damage every turn.

No, it's both of you guys who are weird for obsessing over Final Fantasy so much.

Now if it were Pokemon, then that would be an entirely different story...

No I'm not :frowning2:
My favorite Final Fantasy game is FF Tactics Advanced 2. That says a lot.

Yes! Let's talk Pokeman instead!
Favorite game? Are you one of these "Only the first 151 Pokemon are good!"-guys?

...So you think obsessing over Final Fantasy is strange, but not Pokémon?

Okay, it is technically a casino, or at least has a casino section, but is more like a theme park overall.

Hey, having Sephiroth at all is pretty cool, man.

Thank you.

That is a bit more elegant than spamming Ultima.
But....when do you ever need this much damage? Is there even any challenge left in the game once you use stuff like this?
I managed to get all my main FF9 characters to level 99 and there was not a single enemy in the game that could seriously harm me anymore. Kind of pointless IMO. Would never go through all the trouble again since you really don#t get anything out of it. Well, I guess it makes sense if you want to 100% the game....

I believe he was joking.

I just watched a bit of the Swedish dub of Fist of the North Star.
HOLY ****!
German and English dubs are like a bazillion times better xD

I think it's because Pokemon has a true no endgame. Once you max out Final Fantasy 7 I'm assuming there's not really an open world part to it where using the maxed out stuff is necessary. If you maxed out in FF13 you still have a decent number more challenging enemies to beat so advanced strategies makes sense there. With Pokemon you can't ever max out because there are so many team/EV/IV/moveset variations, and you get competitive battling. It's strange when there's not really any point except for 100%-ness, which is fine :p I would rather play other games though than crazy max out one (Ni No Kuni)

Well, there are many advanced techniques that are of benefit earlier in the game. It's too much work for me to describe them, though, or even remember them, since some were developed by accident through experimentation. But since you mentioned spamming spells, you should read the Final Fantasy VII Ultimate Guide by Versus Books for some great Materia strategies. (It's rare and expensive, but there are online scans of it.)

I played through Final Fantasy IX again earlier this year and didn't get anywhere close to level 99 when I beat Ozma, Hades, etc., so I can imagine how empty life must feel at that level. (I haven't leveled up that high in that game for many years.)

I'm one of those only 151 are good people. Mainly because I got old and didn't want to keep track not find like 500 Pokemon. When there are that many, it starts being just an exercise of copy paste and their uniqueness isn't what it used to be.

Play the original FF Tactics. Like 15 bucks on your phone or tablet. Will be worth every penny.

Thank you.

Emerald Weapon.

I used a slightly less ridiculous version of this to beat that sucker. Pure evil. Mainly because I was tired of mastering materia to make it easier. As soon as I could feasibly beat that sucker, I stopped.

Even with enough omnislash/mime runs, you could still get unlucky and lose to that person, so you need resurrection backup.

That reminds me...I played Final Fantasy XIII for well over 100 hours, but didn't get close to maxing everything out. I couldn't even defeat the Adamantoise (basically the largest, most powerful turtle elephant monster in the game, lol), though I could easily defeat anything else. I didn't research many strategies for that one, though.

I guess that's cool, but I never got into the Pokémon games. My brother used to collect the cards.

I used to have multiple save files before the fights with Emerald and Ruby Weapon, just to try out tons of fun techniques. You can't rely on just one against them.
