Why would the 670 be 150$ more if its about the same >_>.

ew no.

1: Passmark is not accurate. That site is used by me BUT ONLY for VERY VERY GENERAL purposes of where a card may fall. This comes useful when consumers ask

I have X intergrated(they usually don't know that it's intergrated) GPU in my computer, how would it relate to X or should I upgrade to Y? I have both laying around! Which one is better?

I have X card in my 6 year old laptop, how will it compare to Y card if I buy it for a desktop?

There is a notebook review site that does a decent job of performance amongst laptop GPU's but for all the crazy comparisons people make, Passwark is the way to go at this point.

These are usually 5+ year old cards with very little benchmarks or comparisons. That is when videocardbenchmarks comes into it.

For current day cards....NEVER use that site. You will get laughed at.

So you'd saying the 7850 is close to the 670 then?

I don't know.... I was mearley saying that you shouldn't use passmark for current day cards.

lets take a look then

According to Guru3D and LegitReviews setups and tests utilizing games and 3DMark 11
The 7850 is not close to the 670. But then again. I never said it was

it was Haiburi who did...and he ws pretty far off but then again...who really cares that he made a guess?

To show the difference between two drastically different cards passmark works fine to get my point across that the 670 is in a league above the 7850. While not accurate or great I was proving a point with the quickest method that popped into my head.

On OCN they say it's less powerful than the GTX570 but more powerful than the GTX560Ti. I just went and looked at Anand's benchmarks which I linked above. Pretty darn close in some cases. Here's the OCN graphics card ranking thread.

  • GeForce GTX 560 Ti (448 Cores) 1280MB
  • GeForce GTX 480 1536MB
  • Radeon HD6970 2GB
  • Radeon HD7850 2GB
  • Radeon HD6950 2GB
  • Radeon HD6950 1GB
  • GeForce GTX 295 1792MB

  • Radeon HD5870 2GB
  • Radeon HD5870 1GB

Ignore the numbers. The GTX570 2.5GB is actually #24 on the list. The text editor just changed it so it's #1.

Dude, come on. Some of the 2GB cards are $179.99-$189.99 with MIR (mail in rebate).

Not more than $200 it seems. Though I do need to get the case and keyboard and mouse.

Oh right...never used my animelist for that...LOL!
