Yeah, that connector looks absolutely craptacular. Bleagh.

The type of the connector has been known since February 16th when the first and only review was published. If this connector is known to be a problem why so many people ordered the phones?

I feel the mood of this thread is becoming hysterical. 3 out 5 people are having intermittent problems with the connector, out of 500 headphones sold. The sample size is too small to call it statistics.

No issues with my connectors.  Make sure you match the orientation when hooking them up.

These are Chinese knock off of Audeze headphones.  Not a bad thing for $300!

The measurement don't look horrible indeed. I'm willing to risk disconnection issues to try these out, and I can always mod down the road if necessary. Ordered!

Because that one (anonymous) published review was questionable with respect to legitimacy, as it predates the availability of the phones.

The sample size is so small since only a few people have gotten their pairs, they only just shipped out yesterday.

We will see if its a very serious problem as the week goes on.

I can tell you that I'd be very unhappy spending 300 bucks on a brand new phone and the connector is finicky. Would you not?

Which ones?

I've heard LCD 2, LCD X and LCD XC.  They're closest to LCD 2.  Good bass extension, lowered mids and treble and a slight rise after 10kHz.  Strings, guitars and piano are pushed back. Voices are slightly back as well. An enjoyable listen but not "neutral" like a studio monitor or an HD6XX which have better timbre.

Mine are coming  in on Tuesday my birthday and sounds like I will be sending them back also. It sure looks like a direct copy LCD-2  and if they would put a better connector they would have had a great headphone. I guess if your willing and able to mod it and put MR. Speakers stytle connector on the phones  they could be great. I just will wait for my Mr. Speakers Aeon end of April.

Because if you could get a good pair  with good connectors how long will they hold ou? . They have a 5 year warranty . But no fun dealing with returns for repairs and so on.

Perhaps after they get flooded with repairs they may upgrade to a decent connector free of charge.
