IMO, Ares sounds more natural, pleasure and expressive, but Sonica has more detailed, academical, hi-transparent and very clear sound.

Hmm..seems like SS and tube sounding:grinning:

I just bought an HA-1 this morning in silver. Is there any idea if this Sonica Dac will also be offered in silver? If not I may try to get ahold of the AV shop and switch my order to black in preparation for the next inevitable indulgence.

Edit: I just saw a comment in another thread that the Sonica is only expected in black. :/

Believe only support up to 24/192 and DSD 64 in wifi and USB A (at the front).  While USB B asynchronous is 32/768, DSD512.

Difference in SQ will depend on how good your ear is.

Quick question for everyone, and forgive me if it was already mentioned earlier in the thread,

How hot does the Sonica DAC get? Would it be safe to place other equipment on top of it?

Thanks

I have a pair of Sonica. My question is how different would the SQ from the Sonica DAC compares from Wi-Fi for the sonica speakers from my Samsung Galaxy S7? I'm using USB directly of course into the Sonica speakers with using the sonica APP.
Thanks
Mike
