Official X3 2nd gen beta firmware thread--FW1.44: library search, ReplayGain, high speed USB, DoP, D2P...

Disappointed that the track ordering issue on multi-disc albums still hasn't been fixed in the latest firmware when playing in category view. Still plays in the order (disk-track) 1-1, 2-1, 1-2, 2-2, 1-3, 2-3 etc.

Also as I've put more albums on my player I have really started to miss the lack of a search function.

I agree that a better search function is needed.

My older players (going back to old Creative players) always seemed to have an issue with track order on multi-disc sets, so I got in the habit years ago where, when I would rip a multi-disc set, I would just change the tags to make them a single album with the appropriate track order from 1-xx.

Joe - this is brilliant.  One click = one movement.  MUCH better

Just installed the new beta firmware and the scroll wheel is a lot more precise than it was before :)
It doesn't skip past what I am trying to select and goes where I want it to now, good job FiiO!

Great stuff but pleeeease make the unit start on PAUSE or remember that PAUSE was engaged before shut down. I hate music starting to blast immediately when I turn it on with my IEMs connected.

Also, some fade in/out on PAUSE/RESUME is not a bad idea.

Thanks for the new FW. I am running the Beta 1.31 and the scroll wheel works accurately.

I have been using it for close to an hour and I can tell with 99% confidence that 1 Click = 1 Movement on the Screen. Haven't come across any bugs either so far.

Re FW1.31.

The scroll wheel now responds in a predictable manner with each click of the wheel corresponding to the positioning of the cursor on a menu item on the interface.

This fix, along with the one implemented on FW1.3 which returned the folder view to the correct position in the folder hierarchy relative to the item currently playing, have significantly improved the basic basic operation of the user interface.

Much appreciated, my X3 2G now feels more polished and refined!!

The next UIF improvement that I would like to see would be an option to use larger font sizes...
