If you like light and airy, then I don't think our tastes are similar enough to make your recommendations terribly accurate. I agree wholeheartedly about the Ethers though they are fantastic.

I meant there feel not sound.

They do a fall meet, yes (at least I think that is the plan). There were some of us that were not able to attend the spring meet, so we wanted to see if we could get together before the fall one. We do not have to decide on a date by next week, but it would not be terrible if we did. If there isn't any interest, that's fine too.

I think I will wait for the fall, as its quite a bit of trouble to get up there from TX. I'll keep a close eye on this thread and when you guys decide on a date, maybe if flights are real cheap it will be worth it.

Anyone know if Knoxville ever has any meets/trade shows such as this?

There are several Folks that travel to the Nashville Meets from Knoxville. Rumny is in Knoxville, a very knowledgable Head Fi'er.

There aren't enough Head-Fiers that can go to meets for each locale to have on. They're pretty regional events. Burnley is kind enough to plan/fund the meet so we go to him.

Thanks for the replies.  Might have to travel to Nashville next spring.  Will probably feel intimidated since I'm a budget-fier.  Would love to demo some higher end stuff though.

Come to the fall meet! Being a budget fier at a meet is great. No pressure to show off your gear, and you get to try out so much new stuff!

Believe it or not, even some of us guys in mid to high-fi equipment still love checking out great budget gear. They make for great gifts for family members and recommendations for friends. Hey, Ive seen some sub $150 cans sound pretty dang good.

Yeah I think a few people were impressed with the HE-300 at the Fall 2014 meet. I know I was impressed by a lot of cans in that range.

The Nashville meet is usually 2 1/2 (Franklin) to 3 hours (Spring Hill) away from West Knoxville.

At the last meet vendors were flying in from way outside the area and we have Head-Fi members from ALA, GA, MS, and KY drive in.

You really need a large population base to draw from for such a niche inside a niche industry/hobby.

No need to feel intimidated this is a very friendly group. Big range of budgets and some of the vendors have brought in amps you just read about.

I drove in from Texas last time. I dont get why Houston head-fiers dont get together more often. Its the fourth largest city in the US and in the last 3 years all we had was one mini meet with about 9 people.

Think I'll tentatively plan on it!  Will a new thread be started with location and date or will this one be updated?

Burnley is buried at work, someone else who lives in Nashville may have to step up and plan our Fall Meet.
