Yeah, sorry for your wallet for sure! After a while and after your wallet has been chronically abused, you try to help out a brother so that at least the pain will be worth it - hence the douza tip. Having said that, /everyone/ should have a b3 in their collection... so very sorry for your wallet lol!

And don't forget the Fidue A71 - another incredibly crack addictive dual dynamic iem! :)

Are they really, truly, honestly that good?  I mean, I have a pair of NuForce Primo 8s, which are considered to be one of the absolute best (if not the best) quad-driver BA IEMs.  And as far as dynamics go, I've had my RE-400s in for hours on end and not only are they still incredibly comfortable, but I'm consistently amazed by their SQ song after song after song.  Are the cheaper B3s actually better than this?

They rock! But treble-heads or detail-freaks need not apply lol

Seriously though, the douza's would be the safer bet. I personally love the a71's, but they won't be for everyone. The douza's though will have a more universal appeal I'm sure.

Btw, I am getting the distinct impression the double dynamic iems are the way of the world! :)

"Better" is of course subjective. Having said that, I have no opinion because I haven't heard the primo 8's or re400's. But, I haven't heard the douza's either, so I can safely say that the douza's are better than either of those two. :)

I can't do super-bright headphones.  I'm extremely sensitive to some frequency band that seems to be at or around 4-7khz.  Overblown distortion in guitars or any sibilance whatsoever is nearly painful for me—which sucks because my primary musical interests are extreme metal genres.  That's why I love my RE-400s: the treble extends like a giraffe practicing yoga but it's smooth and non-fatiguing.

I really can't recommend the Primo 8s enough.  Their sound stage and imaging are spectacular and although my opinion is hardly authoritative, their signature feels extremely well balanced.  It took a while to figure out what tips work best for me, as shallow insertion causes a harsh treble spike with default silicone tips, but when they're deeply inserted with Complys they're comfortable enough to sleep in.  It also doesn't hurt that they are, hands down, the most attractive IEMs I've ever seen.

You got me interested in the re400's! I have the same issue with highs and am into smoother highs for sure. Which is why I like the a71's so much (along with their great bass, nice mids).

You should follow twister6's reviews. He writes good ones, and he also prefers warmer and smoother signatures. He's one of the guys that is really enjoying the douza's.

B3 ...the special sauce in them are the 3D like soundstage and imaging...it's actually one of a kind imho....

Btw..they are not super bright...

This is all true. Which is why /everyone/ should have a B3!

Nice thread, this is how I rank my DD:
CKR10=B3 Pro1>IM70>Brainwavz R3>T1E>B3 Pro2>Brainwavz R1>Samsung HS330>Narmoo S1

The CKR10's and B3 Pro1's really are polar opposites but I could easily live with the two as my only two IEM's.

Okay, moral dilemma time.  Head-Fi, help me do the right audiophile thing!

I own JVC HA-FXT90s, RHA MA-750s, and RE-400s—each of which I love (although since I got my Sleek Audio SA7s and NuForce Primo 8s the MA750s have fallen out of my rotation).  I didn't think I'd ever see a sub-$100 IEM that held a candle to the HiFiMans; especially not one that offers an out-of-head sound stage and stunning 3D imaging.  But I'd never heard of the Havi B3 Pro 1s before this thread.

I see them on Amazon right now, and I can have a pair at my doorstep by Monday, but I've already spent well over $300 on IEMs this month alone (which is exactly why I need to stay the hell away from this wonderful, wonderful site).  But the devil on my shoulder is so eloquent, and he knows me so very well!

What do you guys think: (A) Pull the trigger now and beg for the wife's forgiveness in the morning; or (B) pretend I could ever be happy with "only" six sets of IEMs.

. . .

. . .

. . .

Please say "A".

I don't think that the Havi are much of an improvement over your re-400. Save the money and go for the Duoza imo.
