Hello Frank,

Is it 'painful' to listen to the HE-560 after listening to the HE-1000 ?

What are the main differences between both headphones ?

Thanks

Absolutely not. The HE560 us an excellent headphone and very enjoyable. The price point for the HE560 makes it very  affordable. The HE1000  was designed to compete  with any headphone at  any price and Fang has succeded in designing  a new reference Hifiman Headphone.  The hE560 is still  a fantastic headphone at a terrific price point many can afford and one  I enjoy .

I have the Oppo PM1 silver dragon cable fro Moon Audio and since they use the same connectors I was able to swap the cables in an out.

Been running Burson Virtuoso Conductor all night with the HE1000 and it is very musical and not even half way up on the 100 step.Very comfortable volume at 30

I really hope they drop the chrome and choose a more classy off white or latte type colour. Not a deal breaker in any way but it would be the better choice.

I couldn't agree more.  Chrome = Cancer.

The prototype in its current form just has this cheap, faux gaudy look to it.  I thought it was chrome plated plastic before it was confirmed otherwise.

i agree the he1000 can look better. liked the mock up all white and all black photoshopped versions done by someone around here.

No love for the chrome from me either, but to each their own.

I have some concerns regarding reliability if the driver is so thin. I'll let other people test the headphone for a few month or a year before buying it.

Sometimes when you try to make something look expensive by dollying it up with glitter you make it look cheap instead.

i know it's a matter of opinion but i'm finding these criticisms over the top. sure it's not understated but it doesn't look cheap or gaudy to me either.
