The problem with the price is that there are many factors we dont know:
Price of the R&D, cost of production, cost of manufacturing update, current worldwide monetary policies...
Id not even be that surprised if Fang goes for something like 1.5K if the cost is low, but most likely we are looking at a rather expensive product.
ill still monitor this thread just to find out what price eventually hits.

I think you're trying to have a laugh of some sort but let's not suggest terrible ideas. The person you're referring to as "crazy-looking guy" is a founder and owner of a super rad headphone store in Tokyo. If you wanna look at lightly-clad women, the internet is a big place.

Oh, so you are the crazy-looking guy! Sorry for having offended you, oh blessed owner of the rad Tokyo headphone store.

I have the Hd800 and it is one of my reference headphones and the hE1000 is significantly better to my ears.     I think most hD800 users will be impressed with this headphone.

Hello Frank,

Is it 'painful' to listen to the HE-560 after listening to the HE-1000 ?

What are the main differences between both headphones ?

Thanks

I tried linking people to your thread here within minutes of you posting it, but it didn't help much to keep this thread more focused. People are inevitably going to talk about price everywhere.

I wouldn’t make my buying decisions on price alone. The warranty has to be for more than 1 year for me to put down statement money for a headphone with this kind of new tech and with Hifiman’s QC history.

It seems that many phones eventually gravitate to a price that people judge it to be worth, such as the TH900 ($2000 to $1400) and Stax 009 ($5500 to $3000).
Phones that seem to be fairly priced by steady demand stay pretty constant over the long term (HD800 and LCD3).
This works in the upwards direction with phones like the Sony R10, and some other classics.
So whatever the new Hifiman is introduced at, its quality will determine its worth.
Of course, if it's a limited run, this would bump things up down the line, like the A-T W3000ANV, selling at a premium to its retail price when it was produced.

i like it as is. it's making a statement and folks who have seen it in the flesh say that the pics don't do it justice.
