Tried going through the pages of the thread looking for answers and went through tens of 'em without finding what I need...pls help guys...

I humbly ask for your experience with battery life...I am into my second charge cycle and unlike the first cycle this time i tried to note down the listening sessions aiming to find out how long the battery holds from charge to charge...i guess i might have missed noting down a small session or two but give or take the fist battery line disappeared rougly after 15-16 hours of listening...i do not use any power hungry phones, mostly listened on my Sennheiser MX 581 and Senn HD 229...Clear audio/DSEE HX off...only eq on with 1 step bass boost, studio affect on... also tried to minimize fiddling with it, so the screen was off most of the time...

Can you share your experience regarding this matter, just want to put my mind at ease that my unit is ok and no issues with battery...i know the battery time varies from user to user according to phones used, type of use, etc but would like to hear from you guys approximately how long does the battery on your walkman hold between charges...

Edit - I usually listen at 15-18 loudness level, 20 is alredy too loud for me

^^^ battery care is probably turned on, DSEE is also likely on and were you listening to 192/24 tracks? Might explain it.

My files are all CD flac with everything turned off, even eq and bypassing the internal amp for an external.

Even from the HO, battery life is great if you try to compare it with a fiio DAP , lasts 4 times more on the A17

Forget Fiio, this thing amped is the best portable player on the market.

I've purchased it too and made the order from Indonesia. If I remember correctly, it took almost 3 weeks (I'm in Jakarta). It came with screen protector that so easy to apply which is nice.

That is pretty normal, u use software features, which use more battery. The equalizer alone costs a lot of battery.

Please welcome me to the Sony walkman club! I've just bought a NWZ A15. I wanted a DAP to replace my old iPod classic that was literally falling apart! I'm using it only with my Hifiman RE-262, and the difference with the iPod is obvious. Currently listening to some Villa-Lobos string quartets and the result is very good. 
 
I love the UI, very easy to use and incredibly fast.
Which case can you recommend me? below £10 please And I'm now tempted by the Sony in ears too!

My silicon case didn't come fast enough l have a small scratch on the screen after 2 days and it hasn't even left the house!

seems like GloveAudio S1 does work with A10.

I keep a bunch of 6' phone screen protectors to cut to size, did this out of the box.

Well, the best portable DAP? High praise indeed, but that does seem unrealistic. The Pono is supposed to be amazing as is the X5 and then of course there are the A&K players. Pretty tough competition. I hope your only exaggerating a little as I am close to getting an A17.

My battery of my A17 last 39 to 40 hours, I have all effects off, 99% of my library is flac 16/44 and 1% is 24/88 or 96 and one album is 24/192, driving headphones from A17 ampsection adn yes Battery Care on to preserve my battery more (the same is on my VAIO but 50% while i don't travel, if travelling then 80% care or completely off)
 
I was trying to say if you compare the crappy battery life of a fiio DAP  the sony beats the ass of the fiio's butt because my walkman beats the fiio x3 battery by 4 times longer run time (40h on A17 vs 10h on fiio x3)
 
and the amp part you got it correct mate to make my A17 even Godly better  
 
Got the Fiio L5 LOD to use my bose soundDock, that thing only has old 30-pins iPod dock and an AUX IN jack

The case looks good but the only-sold-in-japan by sony looks even better (looks like a book-style case) i want that book-flip case hahaha fück sony for not releasing outside japan

There will be a new software update in april aprox for the A10 walkman, i think for the LDAC thingy on bluetooth and perhaps maybe other stuff
 
I've noted that if you unplug your headphones while music is playing it does not pause the song, but if I unplug the fiio L5 it does pause the currently playing song
