Moon Nēo 430HA Reference Headphone Amplifier

I did not get it, which setting is thinner?

I am not quite sure but I feel that the high gain provides extra dynamics and impact (vol matched, 44 lv on high vs 50 lv on low)!
I have no idea if this is real or just my imagination :confused_face(1):

Low gain sounds worse than high gain. Glad I gave this a try.

Two different classes of HP amp.  The Moon is on another level according to many reviews.

HI All,

For those of you looking to order the Moon Neo 430 or Moon Neo 230 for that matter, we are an authorized Simaudio dealer. We also currently have a loaner program going for both units in the Sponsor Announcement and Deals thread. You will soon be able to read reviews from thos who are in the program there. If you want to be added to the loaner list, email me (do not pm me here!) and I will try to get it to you in a few months when those who have signed up are done.

My impressions were that this is one heck of a good amp. More like a great amp actually. One of the best solid state amps that I have ever heard. The DAC section is also very good and I found it worked very well with all of my headphones. I first heard it at Tylls huge headphone and headphone amp setup last summer and decided at that point I should be selling this! I am anxious for everyone to get their turn with the amp so I can get mine back. Until then I will suffer with the Apex Pinnacle

I've owned the Ragnarok with Yggy prior to owning the 430ha and I prefer the 430ha hands down.  There is something so magical about this headphone amp.  It makes every single headphone I own sound magical.  Even my 150 dollar headphones sound better than ever through the 430ha.  I watched "The Revenant" through my PS4 connect to the 430ha DAC and used my HD650 and WOW.  I was blown away by the sound.  I have to say for anyone who is into home theater need to watch "The Revenant."  The movie has one of the best recordings and sound effects I have ever heard in a movie.  Anyways, I wasn't really impressed with the Rag.  Its a very power amp but when compared to the 430ha, the 430ha just sounded better to me.  Just my two cents.

Anyone try the Moon 380d?  I'm curious to know how this DAC measures up against the DACs in this price range?  I need another DAC for my two channel home audio system.  I wonder how it would compare to the YGGY or the DAC in the 430ha?  Anyone compare?  Anyone have experience using Tidal with MIND?

My general experience with SimAudio stuff, is that they are natural. They simply disappear between the your gear.
Not harsh, yet able to reveal!
Not rolled-off, yet musical!

They have a loaner program to demo their equipment, just go and check their website. I am also looking for a DAC for my Olympica 3 speakers and prefer all on one option (Integrated amp + DAC). So if you find something, please let me know
