You've owned the RE262 right? I feel the 7550 as a direct upgrade to the RE262.
I did and I regret selling it.
At the time I was purely looking for a v-shaped signature. More precisely, I was looking for (that
one) do-it-all IEM (that would fulfill all my wants and needs) with a v-shaped signature.
I wouldn't necessarily say that my IE80 would be my do-it-all, nor do I feel the need to fill my inventory with that one particular kind of sound. I'm sure you know what sound I'm referring to here, the doof-doof sound that makes all EDM sound wonderful, yet at the same time, also ... FX:ish. Don't get me wrong, I still do enjoy a pounding bass and so on, but I'm getting so tired of it. Everything I listen to becomes just another deja-vu (or, deja-entendu) because of that. At the moment, v-shaped signatures serves a great
effect, but less great
music.
I'm looking for something new, something that doesn't sound the same as everything else I have. The RE-262 did that for me, however, I'm not sure I was ready for it. I'm still not sure I'm ready for it, I may end up hating the 7550 (yeah, I decided to take lees 7550), however, I do know this: I'm tired of that Pro 900:ish, D2000:ish sound, and I want to move on. Try something else for a change. At the time I had the RE262, I wanted bass and I wanted treble, and wanted them hard. Now all I can think of when I even hear the word bass is nausea - and yesterday I really felt it when I listened to some dubstep.
I hope I make sense here. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I need something new, something else for a change.
