Well the HE-500 needs some power. Not as much as the HE-6 but still a sizeable amount to reach its full potential. A minimum of 2 Watts is what's needed to bring its true colours. 1 Watt and below is plentiful but might not bring the dynamics that the HE-500 is capable of. I have tried my HE-500 on a Bakoon Products HDA-5210 mk3 amp in which god knows how much power it delivers since spec sheets are nowhere to be found for this amp. But what I do know is, when the switch is at high current and the volume knob at 2.5 out of 10, it delivers dynamism, speed and detail retrieval like no other amplifier can. Which should be expected on a $2000 Japan only amplifier.

I just used the velour pads for a good 3-4 hours. They're not really for me. It does sound better but the itchiness and scratchiness of the velour material just sets my skin aflame. I have fairly sensitive skin though. Kind of upset the velour isn't smoother, I guess I'll order a pair of new plethers and the travel case and try the jergpad mods out.

Oh yes, the velour is annoying for some people. Not for me though. I do agree that the velours sounds better in some ways, mainly on the treble, timbre, mids, soundstage, instrument separation and air but sacrifices on low end impact.
I really need to buy some spare pleather pads and do the Jergpad as well. BTW his credit card trick works wonders.

Hopefully tonight ill get pics. A fellow client is writing a rebuttle because he too has been waiting for a long time. Both of us have gone over 5weeks

I read the alpha pads work somewhere, you should make sure before ordering though...

It's actually convenient for me since I wanted the travel case anyways so I can ship them together. I was kind of sad when they didn't have any of their accessories on their amazon page so I could get the flat $5.00 shipping rate. Instead its around like ~$11 because they're carrying case is fairly heavy I guess?

Yeah the descriptions I've read on the velours have been mixed (or I'm recalling it wrong) but the low end impact definitely seemed reduced with the velour's with me and I thought I read somewhere that it was supposed to improve. I could just be recalling things wrong though.

Currently in the process of getting a quote for some norse audio cables, I'd like to get a mini xlr adapter because hifiman's screw concept is a pain in the ass, and possibly a 4 pin balanced termination into a 6.3mm jack adapter in case I ever decide to go balanced, (or want to test out a balanced amp).

Hmm, that does seem to be the problem with group buys though, (I'm assuming you joined the one that was redirected to changster?). They always seem to have longer production times for the reduced price.

What was wrong with the first one again? It may just be the picture quality but the lights seem to bleed over way too much for my tastes. Maybe I'm just growing out of this whole LED thing though.

Wanna know what would really hurry up the process? Filing a dispute on Paypal (assuming you used PP that is)

I didn't like the MX browns. Thought the actuation force was too light and the multi-key-length keys (space, shift, backspace) were mushy to me. They still feel funny even with the blues though to be honest. I'll give it a couple weeks to get used to before I consider returning it though.

Yep. As much as it is natural to have delays...im still 3weeks over scheduled time. Meh too much work to file something. Besides, got work to do.

Nice Silhouette. I own one too. Really light and comfy.
