Alright thanks everyone, I just ordered the 580's.
It says I should be getting them on Friday, so I'll report back if you'd like with what I think of them after a little while.

Now I just need to figure out what portable amp I want to buy.

Just got them. and yes i am hearing everything the reviews say. The bass impact and stuff is ranging every couple hours from a lot to small. and the highs are kinda harsh. when listening to pendulum. the ....whatever instruments in the back create this almost static-y sound wtih them. My Completley burned in SHURE SHR440's are still superior in overal sound to the 580's.but again. it's doing what the review is saying..let's just hope i can wait 600 hours with these :)

I just ordered them yesterday from bhp with free shipping, and got them today.
I can't believe that.
Welp, I am going to test them out.

my impressions for 3 days. :) hope it helps. they aren't really good at first..ok they suck at first. but after 13 hours...the sound just popped in. the highs and mids rocked like they were studio's and now. the lows are comming in slowly as well.

That's good to hear, because honestly I was not getting a good impression with them.
Even after just this brief amount of time, I honestly feel like it's being opened up already.

Same. after about 30 minutes. i also felt they opened up. I was quite unhappy for many hours. by the 10th hour. i was all frowny faced. Adele with Rolling in the deep sounded like ....well u know. bad stuff. the highs sucked and were very harsh . the vocals..i don't know about u. but i hated them. the people sounded so ...harsh also. they were really hard to listen to people talk.  open the spoilers for the sound quality part and the music impression, that's what i was felling.
and then while writing this..something happened. it happened with the last song i was listening to. Wake up Call by Marron 5. before listening i felt/if not knew i was gonna crap on the vocals and highs again....but it didn't..it felt good. so i wrote it in...i changed songs. and from that song to the next couple songs. the highs came in....adele now sounds like she is singingout of my Studio Shure SRH 440's :)
like other reivews. the bass still needs a slight extension. i also noted that the E5 amplifier sounded better than unamped. since u are not sure for an amp. An E11, ZO2 or iBasso will do. If the choice is hard. just take the generic one. the E11 that is. it's unspecififed and will do anything :)

The Maverick Tube Magic D1 is an obvious choice on Head-Fi for a great cheap desktop amp.
check out the SOUND QUALITY section of my review, including the spoilers, it should help
