Yes. x2. When you open the cans and put them on your head, you are loosening the yoke screws. So, try to keep an eye for them. >.<

That's why Audeze provides a matching sized hex screw key or "allen key" for you tighten the yoke hex screw. Also just a tip, if you have LCD2's/3's and you are finding it hard to stretch out the headband from the yokes etc, a little bit of sewing machine oil will smooth things up again.

LCD-2 were recabled with ALO balanced cable, LCD-3 were with their stock balanced cable. Finally I liked LCD-2 by large margin. So did a man that comparing the two on another amplifier next to me.

Ive heard a few LCD3 headphones and there was a huge difference between them. quite possible you heard a veiled pair. more information on that in this thread http://www.head-fi.org/t/600121/just-got-my-lcd-3-and-the-first-impression/30#post_8337587

Yesterday at the Munich High End Show I had the opportunity to compare LCD-2r2 to LCD-3 driven simultaneously on one amplifier. LCD-2 are more hard to drive. They sound more neutral and with flatter FR. LCD-3 had little more bass (or maybe it was the effect of the higher volume, I didn't adjust it each time I put them) and more treble, a kind of ''smiley face" FR curve. They were projecting bigger voices and instruments. The soundstage was the same, the detail was at the same level. The overall impression was that LCD-2 reproduce the music more focused, correct although somewhat tight and the LCD-3s are the more fun headphone with boosted bass and treble and opposite to the LCD-2's tightness play the music with ease (maybe it was the volume effect also). Anyway, the differences were audible even at this crowded place. LCD-2 were recabled with ALO balanced cable, LCD-3 were with their stock balanced cable. Finally I liked LCD-2 by large margin. So did a man that comparing the two on another amplifier next to me.

Not too different views from this great review I read comparing the two. He also preferred the LCD-2 R. 2.

To be clear from your reviews, the first day you used the V200 amp ($1000) on both of them and the second you used the the Mal Valve Head Amp Three ($5,240) on both of them? I am a bit confused.

Really? I didn't get one! I've had to use a super small screwdriver to tighten the screws on the side level adjusters because they kept moving when I put them on my head. Even though I've tightened them both to hell, the right one still wants to move for me if I am nothing but gentle with it. The left one doesn't move anymore and won't even unscrew back for me now lol.

None of the LCD-3s at this show was veiled.

I haven't a chance to listen to them side by side on V200. They were different V200s on different places at this show. The direct AB comparison was with two Mal Valve Head Amp Three and each of them feeded one LCD-2 and one LCD-3. They were on the stand of the German dealer of Audeze.

One side of the Rev1 is flathead, other is allenkey.  Both sides are supposed to my Loctited in place.  If yours comes out, go get some blue Loctite and put a single drop on, screw in to desired depth, let sit for a while and BOOM no loosening.

All this talk about auditions between the LCD2's and V200 amp's really have tempted me to buy one retail right now. I have a V100, it sounds phenomenal with my LCD2's and from few review's, there is a slight (maybe 10% incremental difference) over the V100's. To all you Violectric V200 or V181 owners, how is the sound paired up with your LCD2's?

Last year I owned a V200 for a few months and recall it being a great match with the LCD-2r1. Smooth, powerful and precise sound across the frequencies without sounding clinical. I've seen some postings on other threads questioning the bass quality of this combination and don't remember that at all, but it's subjective. I didn't sell the V200 because I thought it didn't work with the LCD-2, simply because I was going through a bit of a tube vs solid state process. Most of my listening is rock, progressive rock and blues and think the V200/LCD-2 combo is very nice for that and I remember enjoying hours of happy music enjoyment.
Good luck with your decision.

In fact I need more bass. If you are a basshead you must look elsewhere. But you're satisfied with the V100 and I think you will appreciate the superiority of V200. I listened to V100+LCD-2r2 and the difference with it's big brother is significant.

Here's a link to a review by a well regarded Head - Fi poster that may be helpful.

You mean a dedicated amp right? As they need amplification to get any sound from them :) even an ipod has amplification via the headphone jack.

You wont get the best from them without a dedicated amplifier but you wont damage them with a decent source.
