VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

Do you guys think the Bass Edition is worth the extra ~$30?

I've been enjoying my VSD3S for about half a year now and I'm probably going to get the gr07 for my next earphone (Budget is around $100)

Well, as you'd think, it depends how much bass you want. The VSD3S has a bit more bass than the GR07 and less than the BE.

Really? I thought it was agreed, the VSD3S had more bass than both. GR07 CE and Bass edition have very similar bass, the Bass Edition has a subtle subbass boost and that's it. I feel this makes the Bass Edition sound better because the GR07 does lack that subbass boost imo and it's done tastefully so. They're still quite close, the name is misleading, I'll have a review on these two soon...

edit: bass on the graphs of inner fidelity VSD3S has more midbass and the GR07BE has a bit more subbass that's the difference. The regular edition as a result has less midbass than VSD3S but their subbass are similar.

All I can say is that I spent extensive time testing all 3 against each other and those were my findings. The GR07BE had noticeably more midbass and subbass than the VSD3S in my tests. My CE and BE were like night and day in the low end. This was with the stock medium tips on each.

I compared the two on the other hand and found the BE to be slightly bumped in the sub-bass and that's it. Midbass was generally equal.

in addition, IF graphs seem to coincide

i found the subbass was the biggest difference in terms of the bass

the midrange clarity on the gr07be was definitely drier and leaner

the vsd3s are much thicker and warmer

treble oddly i found the vsd3 more peakier (less refined)

where as the gr07be was more extended and airer

but as many stated earlier the original price difference between the vsd3s and the gr07be is much larger than the performance would indicate.

i'm still enjoying my vsd3s to this day, and these days they get more ear time than the gr07be simply because i prefer it's better isolation for commuting purposes. that said my gr07 is still my favorite sounding earphone... so far anyway =0.

just grabbed a pair of 0f the audio technica im70 recently. Lets see if they can take that title away from the gr07bes =0

anyone here scooped a pair of the vsd5? there seems to be a lot more discussion about this comparison over on the vsd5 thread then here. =(

the vsd5s are definitely bigger> gr07s, but they look fairly comfortable. i take a peek on the difference between them in this unboxing

Hi guys I've had my GR07 for quite a while now but I've been getting tired of the sibilance and slight lack of bass quantity so I want to get something to compliment it. Would anyone be able to give me any suggestions? I'd like something that has the gr07's treble with more bass and no sibilance. I was thinking of something cheap though so my options include the VSD3S or VSD3, TTPOD T1E or KC06A... Ideally I'd LOVE a removable cable one but I know I can't have it all. I've had a Shure SE215 and an ATH-IM50 before too but I can't imagine rebuying the former. I have vague memories of the IM50 now but I know I enjoyed it. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. My source will be a FiiO X5 which I use with my other stuff too :).

VSD3 cld be of better choice since you coming from GR07,imo and the removable cable versions are still available @ LMUE with Pink,Red and Blue......
