Have heard the same, that stock cable is not bad at all, but also heard that the higher grade one make a huge difference, seems that T1 are getting lots of benefits from it.

I'm usualy not afraid on re-cabling my headphones ( done many in the pass) but I feel the cable in the T1 is very good already. The only reason I would do it is to get a more flexible cable. The best person to talk too is the same guy that you learn on how to open them zombiex. He does recable I believe and if I not mistaking his own T1 still have the stock cable

Funny thing is, I am thinking to get the same cable from them, but was not sure if their cable is 6 core one. I want one with Furutech end. Have you got yours already?

This is what i'm doing right now:

I bought a bare cable with a 4-pin XLR connection at the end from Trevor at Norse Cable (on sale now):  http://www.norseaudio.com/Norn2Gallery01.html

Brian form BTG-Audio: http://btg-audio.webs.com/  is going to do the Hard wire re cable for me.

Yo,

I've tried the T1's on a few different cable types and the differences weren't that big. I tried the T1 on stranded silver, SPC, UPOCC, OFC and they all sounded very similar. IMO the T1 does not need a cable upgrade as much as lets say the DT880 or DT990.

T1 need 3 wires on each side: 1+, 1- and 1 ground, means 6 core cable, where the most are 2 or 3.
Because of this you have to be sure you will get 4 core cable at least, cos ground part is not that important if your amp dont have ground.

I already asked Trevor, wait for his replay.

Humm.   I have no idea.  You should email Trevor and ask him that.  To technical for me.  What does that mean anyway?

You will get less than 5% improvement with a better cable, provided that you have already reached the best possible in source/ amplification department.

This is the reply I got from Trevor:

We have you down for our flagship 8-conductor Norn 2.  There are 4 x 22 awg on each side.  You would solder 2 x 22 awg to each of the 4 separate contacts on the headphone.  We solder 2 conductors for each L+/L-/R+/R- on the 4-pin XLR.

If you prefer to go with 4-conductor (2 per side) or 6-conductor (3 per side) it is still possible, but would delay your order about a day or two.

But of course, I should know what those conductor numbers mean:)

Let us know when you have them installed.

About to finally send my T1s back for the cable repair...in case anyone didn't see my earlier posts, I had a puppy I'm helping to raise around me when I dozed off with the T1s on my head and woke up to find one side of the cable completely chewed through. When I came home from work today, I came across something very interesting....apparently Teddy not only feels really bad about the whole thing, he wanted me to fire up some tunes so he could listen.

If you look really closely at the bottom of the screen, you can see the cable stub lol

AAwwww, That's so cute! Except for the chewed through cable! Hnnghh! Well, I got mine back and I am very very happy. Even though it took over two months for them to fix the cable It is my fervent hope that Beyerdynamic update the T1 in the near future and include a removable cable for experiences like this. I even sent them feedback about it, hopefully they listen.

No, Insured express postage. That fired lasers at rocks. Heeeyy wait a minute.... Hehe no They literally took three hours to get to their destination by post. I have to say being without them for two months was not a pleasant experience, and certainly not one I wish to have repeated. The T1 must be due an update soon. I will certainly be one of the first customers if they add a removable cable.
