hm...beyerdynamic...beyer...in Danish "bajer" means beer, and there's no audible difference when you speak it out loud. I like a beyer as well as a "bajer" after work :)

Whoa!!! I don't have my T1s with me, but that Logic Bomb track sound amazing on my Grado SR80s! I'm not sure I knew the 80s were capable of this lol

Has anyone compared a newer T1 to an older one recently and noticed any physical differences? (i.e. serial number in the 77xx range vs 47xx).

I swear the strain reliefs going into the cups (and maybe even the cable ) are beefier on the newer ones.  But I may just be imagining it.  I am going from memory after listening to a newer one and never had them side by side.

The headband cushion is different to the older models, can't remember since which serial number. Newer is softer and different shaped. Old has circular profile and new a rectangular one.

The change I was wondering about (strain reliefs into the ear cups, cable) would be after the headband update. Definitely starting to think I imagined the difference I thought I noticed.

For those who tried. How "easy" to open up T1 for re-cable job?

I think that depends upon the tools and skills at hand, but you can do a google search on it and find out if you're comfortable doing it yourself.
