........ But, that's not to say that isn't exactly what grado does to the Mylar to "de stress" it. Probably before its glued onto the body of the driver though.

Since Grado doesn't divulge what their de stressing process is exactly (read skeptical), we can only speculate as to what it may or may not be if anything at all. Perhaps after the Mylar is stamped the molecules are then in a "stressed" state? I could see them giving the diaphragms a blast of heat to "reset the molecular memory" after the stamping, why not? One guess is as good as another.......

Maybe they just overwhelm the driver with a crapload of projects with one week deliver date. thats pretty darn stressful.

I just notice Jaben alumod cups includes jumbo pads... that doesnt make them so expensive. but why that red....

Anyone ever woody modded a MS1 here?

Yeah, I could see it being something along those lines.. Or maybe it involves a coat of something and then heat and then they wash the stuff off.. Hell, its their process they could just dunk them in hot water and then cold and call them "destressed" for all we know.

The jaben jumbos are different from grado jumbo's.. I think the general consensus is that they are shaped like jumbos but sound more like bowls. A lot of people like them. Also, you can deanodize the red with some oven cleaner, if you aren't scared of doing things like that. I forgot who did that, but they turned out fantastic imo

They still need some work but I was dying to know what these things sounded like. So I ran the cable through the ear hole of the Blackwood and the Mahogany driver housings, soldered it to the drivers, pieced them together, plugged them into the Sparrow, and started going through my library of music. So that's how I've spent the last couple of hours. I'm not sure the SR225 can sound any better than this. If they do I'm going to be real happy

They obviously infuse the drivers with radiation, the higher end models just get more that is why they sound better.

Is that why all (like 2 or 3 songs) of my music about nuclear warfare and radiation sound especially good through these?

Like this one...

OK, so there's proof (driver stampings, etc.) that Grado apparently utilizes the same drivers for their SR series of headphones.  However, my SR325i headphones have quite a distinct difference in sound to them.  The highs are more tamed and there's a better lower end.  With that being said, I'm assuming all this can be attributed to the aluminum cups that the SR325i utilizes?
