Audio Technica ATH-CK10

that's a really comprehensive list, none of the new models look like high end stuff though.
Quote:
They're probably basing them on fiscal years -most of 2011's models came out from October to December last year (kinda like how you can get a 2011 model car at the end of 2010).  This link should work better---

Click the first button under the list to select them all, then click the large button in the middle underneath that and you can see a full list of items (including past models) -sorry it's in Japanese though...

That's correct -well the DWL5500 is the new wireless flagship model but ughh... it's wireless...  The CKM99s look pretty nice as well but most of us in this thread already have CK10s or better.

haha true and there is no reason to upgrade to CK100 - my wallet is a little relieved for now (poor thing doesn't have a clue that I'm planning on grabbing an ATH-M50 in the meantime)

Well imo the CK10 and CK100 sound different enough to warrant both but I vastly prefer the CK10.

indeed..initially I was wondering which would sound better. but now after listening to (and loving) the CK10, I'm not sure I would like the CK100, because almost everyone says that they sound very different and I'm not sure the difference would be worth it.  It's got to be a step up to customs for me now

Received your CK10s yet?

I'm expecting both my packages to arrive later today. If nothing goes wrong I should get it sometime in the next hour or two.

How odd. I was waiting until around 3pm for my package today and I figured it would show up when I got home since someone was home but I checked the tracking and it said it left a notice at 2:21 and there's no notice :p

Hopefully it's at the post office near my house and have to call them tomorrow to find out. I have to go there tomorrow anyway and can get there before work tomorrow since I work right by it and it opens 30 minutes before I have to come in.

Most couriers have ninja training for their deliverymen, so they could sneak up to your door and put a notice there without ever being noticed

Far better for the tracking info to say:  "left notice" than "delivered" and you didn't have it sitting there when you got home.

Sort of funny story:  When I first got into head-fi the Singlepower amps were all the rage and the MPX3 was a very popular item.  Being a rather noobie to headphone related stuff, I figured I'd "get the best and be done" so I bought a used MPX3 and anxiously awaited its arrival.  (okay, so the MPX3 wasn't really "the" best, but it was up there other than the astronomically priced gear.  also, back in '06, there weren't as many manufacturers making can related stuff as nowadays.)

Anyways, at the time I lived in Federal Way, WA, by the water where both the roads and houses were laid out in weird configurations, with/without street signs, etcetera.  So I check the tracking and it showed "delivered".  Sweet!  Couldn't wait to get home to hear what all the fuss was about.  Get home, no box.

I call UPS or FEDEX and they confirm that the item was delivered.  I informed them that the item was MIA.  They said they'd look into it.

A few days go by and nothing.  Then I got the bright idea to ask around the neighborhood.  I walked over a few houses and underneath the stairs (thank goodness it was sheltered from the rain) is my box.

So I got the box and everything was okay, but those few days really sucked.

To avoid the potential hassle, I now have almost everything delivered to the office.  But then, again, there's an occasional consequence for that delivery method, too.

Hope you get everything sooner rather than later.

Cheers.

It's odd that you ordered the ck10 at the same time as getting your customs. They're that good huh? =P

Also, where did you order them? I'm thinking of picking up one to be my backup and I always wanted to try it.

Can you please help me out with a favour and take some shots of the packaging of the CK10 once you receive them? and take some note of what kind of seal the box has. I would really like to know how AT seal the Ck10 as the box I received looked a little fishy.

at least ring the door bell or put a delivery notice when they say they put one up.

True about the notice left than delivered. However I would like to know where it is. I called my local post office and they don't have it but going to call back in 30 minutes when some guy arrives at work. I tried calling the other one but got some stupid mailbox full and then theres no valid number for an attendant so no luck there without visiting that post office.

edit: CK10 in the house! I went the post office and I had to mail something anyway so I went to my local one to be sure and thankfully it was there. I put them on and it still sounds like what I remember it to be. I was going to be comparing it to another iem in a review but I decided to hold off until after tax season so I have some more time to do so.

kingpintps, sorry but I forgot to do so but it's basically the same package as before. It was a small plastic case the same as what was shown in a picture a few pages ago.
