I am trying to decide between the Denon D7000 and the Audio Technica ATH W5000 (considering Sennheiser HD 598)
I know there have been at least two other threads on this. But my concern is more specific. It's about the bass. I found the Sennheiser HD 598 out of a Peachtree amp, out of my Matrix Mstage amp etc. and I found it bass shy, though it was less bass shy put of the Matrix Mstage amp. I am...- rajeevrn

Does the pursuit of lossless audio end up affecting the pleasure we derive from listening to good music?

Soundstage is it vertical or horizontal on headphones? Which seems to make more of a difference?
Is the soundstage on headphones vertical or horizontal? I can somewhat hear at times just how wide at is but sometimes the height aspect just doesnt fit in. That's before I auditioned the HD 800, I can clearly make out a vertical soundstage as well. I can really feel the drums hitting really low...- rajeevrn

*****Review***** Grado PS500
Pros: Vocal close to being intimate. Adapts to the song easily. Balanced and bass happy though not too happy to overwhelm in any way. EQ helps. Cons: Not very open, not such a big soundstage, highs could have been a bit better. Not for treble lovers. Departure from Grado sound. Intro: I got...- rajeevrn
