Anyone know where to source replacement T51 ear pads?
Hi guys, Probably a long shot considering these are now obsolete, but I have a torn left pad on my T51p (with a delicious removable cable mod), and I'm trying to figure out a way to get a replacement pair that doesn't involve paying beyer NA 80usd shipped for not even the right pads (the 1350...- Halftrack

What headphones were you using b4 you discovered head-fi/real headphones!
From the point where I was first aware of "better alternatives", UE SF4, CX500 (used them almost concurrently with the SF4), PX100 (used them at home for comfort), and then I discovered Head-fi.- Halftrack

Will there still be an "audiophile headphones" in the future?
I predict that we will one day be able to transmit perfect sound waves straight to our minds. Thus, the source will be the wave transmitter, and the headphone the receiving unit inside our brains. Other items like DACs and amps will be things of the past. However, I imagine that the surgery...- Halftrack

Buying a MD5000 third (or fourth) hand - How can I tell its Markl Modded?
The most obvious sign would be the extra padding on the pads. But this only tells you that it's been modded, and doesn't indicate whether Markl did it. You may wish to consider asking Markl himself whether he's ever dealt with the seller before. Other than that, from what I've seen (in his...- Halftrack

Bought New Alessandro Ms-1 , but is it supposed to be like this?
Sadly, yes. My own MS1i looks just as crappy as that. You can blame Grado's combination "hand-crafting" process and their [apparently] poor quality control system for that. They still sound good though.- Halftrack

This is simultaneously one of the most ridiculous and the best mods I've seen. Test your theory, though - see how many days of continuous play (or days of heavy use) it can take before the battery dies.- Halftrack

Grado 125i pads
Don't quote me on any of this since it's going off my poor memory: The 125i includes updated drivers, comfies instead of bowls, and (I think) a better cable. It may also have a larger ear cup (but that's probably just the MS1i).- Halftrack

Newbie needs help with first audiophile headphone
You'll need much more than an E3 to make the K702 sound good. And the D2000 and SR225i are basically going in completely different directions. Would you rather have (oversimplifying here) a more treble-heavy headphone (SR225) or a more bass-heavy headphone (D2000)?- Halftrack
