Just Audio AHA-120 Appreciation Thread
Just pulled these AHA 120’s out from storage after all these years. Finally had time to listen to them again. After reading reviews on the AKG K92 and managing to find one at a super low price, bought it and just burning them in using this amp. After 50 hrs I’ve put them on now and wow. Just...- Xtralglactic

NEW Philips HX1 HX5 headphones and more @ CES 2016
Well, I have the HX1 earbuds. They're a little too big for my tastes but they're light enough due to the all plastic construction. I have burned them in for 50 hrs. Of course as expected, these earphones have a warm bassy sound. With the EQ set on neutral on my iTouch 6th gen, it actually sounds...- Xtralglactic

Heads up! Dick Smith "Premium headphones VT H68" aluminum and leather construct
Sad to see the Dick Smiths is closing down. Mr Ruslan Kogan bought them at the last minute but will maintain an online presence only I think. Massive bargains in store and online... I asked if there were more VT H68's as I wanted another pair but apparently they became popular in the last couple...- Xtralglactic

the philips shl5500: natural sounding can.
Uhm yeah v shaped means recessed mids but nothing too bad on the shl 3300's. In terms of soundstage I believe it's the way the sound engineer records the track haha but ymmv. I listen to a lot of live albums and I remember not being disappointed while the Sohl 3300's were on my head. It's a...- Xtralglactic

the philips shl5500: natural sounding can.
Well the Shl 3300 is a V shaped can and the superlux 668b is a more balanced can. If I want clarity and don't mind boosting the lows a little on the EQ then the superlux is good! Plugged into a phone directly then I'd recommend the shl3300. Also have a look out for the new model shl3265. I think...- Xtralglactic

Yamaha HPH-Pro 500 Review
Yeah it a STEAL allright! I actaully insisted on picking it up from the seller at 10 pm even tho it was very late to ensure I got the thing. Worth every penny. The guy I bought it off worked for Yamaha Australia and it was just given to them maybe as a stock clearance end of life cycle. I Think...- Xtralglactic

Yamaha HPH-Pro 500 Review
Im just AB-ing them now. The Fidelio L2's are worth it. Its more detailed. Micro details Im talking about. The instruments are not as in your face but its more nuanced and detailed. the cymbals shimmer more etc. For me the L2's are the headphones you can listen to all day! The HPH pro 500 is a...- Xtralglactic

Philips Fidelio L2 [Australia - New Zealand Tour] - Review and Impressions
I now cast my eyes (and ears) to my other phillips headphone the SHL 3300 DJ :) clearly not as detailed and resolving ss the L2, but bass slams wayy more. Id say its got 70% of the l2's detail/resolving capabilities but with more bass but can get sibilant at times due to the bighter sound sig...- Xtralglactic

Heads up! Dick Smith "Premium headphones VT H68" aluminum and leather construct
@JOHNNY LOLO well it just shows peoples preferences differ. One mans treasure is another ones trash or vice versa. This is what makes it all so interesting. It would be so boring if everyone has the same perceptions. Good luck on your headfi journey!- Xtralglactic
