Earplugs (Reccomendations Please?)
Thought I'd resurrect this thread since I bought a set of Elacin ER20 earplugs for a gig this weekend. I've tried using Shure earplugs with the earplugs with music turned waay up on my speakers. I haven't heard a significant difference between the (scarily long and also painful) stock...- jules650

Can the squeeze box operate hooked up direct to a HD?
There are standalone hi-fi hdd based players out there but I they are quite pricey. McIntosh | MS750 I'm sure there a few cheaper ones but I can't remember what they are called.- jules650

The squeezebox needs to run off a computer. It works by receiving the audio stream from your PC, either via LAN or wifi. You can't connect it directly to an external HDD.- jules650

Do you lubricate your tips?
I use the olives and get a very good seal without lubrication. IMO it will just make them fall out easily.- jules650

Dedicated preamp for active speakers
I'm planning ahead for an active speaker setup. I'm using the Squeezebox to a Stello DA100 DAC as source, and will probably get a pair of Mackie HR624 speakers. I'm not even sure if I need an passive or active preamp. I'm looking for something around GBP 150. Size will be a factor as it is a...- jules650

I've been experimenting with coffee for the past few months. Started with the supermarket pre-ground stuff and worked my way round to the not-so-freshly roasted Whittards beans. I bought a Solis Maestro grinder and started ordering freshly roasted beans from Hasbean here in the UK. I also...- jules650
