PSB M4U 2
I find that whether or not the M4U-2 benefit from the built in amp depend on the source. Through my phone or a DAP without much output power, the headphone Amp sounds better. Through a DAP like my Fiio X5i with a good amount of output, the sound is better without the headphone amp on; The...- Jess70

Need recommendation for Best IEM under $200
1more QUAD driver IEM is new at $200 and getting great reviews. Tighter bass and slightly more flat than the triples according to the reviews. I have not heard them myself.- Jess70

I'm looking for a set of analytical in ears. Max. $175 dollars. Are there any?
1more quad driver is supposed to be very good at $200. I don't have that one, but you should read about it. I have the 1more triple driver which is amazing and analytical for $100. Not as good as my $350 over ears, but very good for the price.- Jess70

Review: 1MORE Triple Driver In-Ear Headphone with In-line Microphone and Remote
Anyone complaining about bass on the triples really needs to adjust the fit/seal. While I love these as far as sound/price ratio, my main complaint it the over-emphasized and bloated bass. I usually like headphones with a slight mid-bass hump.- Jess70

PSB M4U 2
I think the PSB's are still (generally) regarded as the best sounding when not in active NC mode, the noise canceling, while fairly decent, isn't as good as the TOL Bose. My understanding is the Sony MDR-1000X are comparable to Bose tech in noise cancellation, are better sounding than the Bose...- Jess70

Be careful = Look at review pics so you know what the real box/packaging looks like. My point being some people likely receive the wrong HP, don't realize it, then report "these things suck."- Jess70

Be careful, Amaxon has been sending out the wrong headphones. People (including me) have received white headphones in a small case. Look at review pictures of what the box should look like. Even though I received the wrong item (as many others have), Amazon sent the correct item after I alerted...- Jess70

The 1more have a higher resistance and need more power to drive to higher volume levels. There is a section in head-fi on resistance and sound. My understanding is higher resistance allows a bit more control. One thing for sure is that high-end over-ears generally have very high resistance.- Jess70

My point was that an incomplete seal will lessen the bass. Try smaller tips.- Jess70

Adjusting to tips with less of a seal might help. Source also matters. With my iPhone the 1more triple drivers are a bit boomy, with my Fiio X5 the bass is much better controlled, tighter and closer to flat (but not flat).- Jess70

When I was first starting with Head-Fi, many considered the Altman Terra Player the best sounding, if not the most usable, DAP. I am curious how the Terra player compares to the new TOTL DAPs. I am not looking to buy one, just curious how things have developed.- Jess70

Try the different tips, but make sure to try to get a tight fit by rotating them back and forth to screw them in your ear a bit. I found a significant difference between some of the included tips.- Jess70

1more E1001 triple driver in ear headphones review
That being said, I like these a lot, and think they are amazing for the price. I just bought another pair for my brother. I would make sure you have a good fit. 1more E1001 triple driver in ear headphones review
These are not great IEM's. They just shoot above their price point in many people's opinions. Just like with over-ears, IEM's are built at a variety of price points and with variable quality. There are IEM's for $1700+. While I have not heard any high end IEM's (most are custom molded), I am...- Jess70
