'iTunes v mediamonkey etc' flame war eh? I love how segmented head-fi is - I've spent most my time in the big LCD2 and Stax thread - in a good way!  There is a impressive depth of knowledge settled in all sub-forums. I guess that's why I've stayed around so long.

Wow. This thread updates so quickly in days. Nice to see some LCD2 rev1 versus rev2 comparisons. (Thanks all btw.) The theories perposed for the change sound reasonable and I think I'll stay happy with my rev1 partnered with my house's STAX system for when I'm craving more soundstage/openess etc.

I'll admit the LCD2s are pretty heavy phones, but I sit in a normal chair with the LCD2 while reading (for long periods) and have NEVER experieced the reported neck pain with them. That I find their overall weight annoying and uncomfortable is about as far as I can push it. 

What are the SS options for the LCD2 in the $750~1k zone? Though I'll admit I'm still lusting after the Decware Mini Torii.
