I have found a couple of good local deals on speaker amps and was just wondering how functionality good the Logictec Squeezebox Touch is if used as a source and pre-amp (directly into to the amp)? Will there be gain issues? I can accept some sonic draw backs in the short term if it works conveniently to control volume, get house parties started, etc. It would just be a stop gap measure until I can grab a deal on a tubed pre-amp locally. Such are the problems with planning an upgrade path for the future. I'd be streaming music from my OSX laptop.
 
Does anyone have any experiences with using the Squeezebox directly into an amp?
