My AKG K142 HD should be here tomorrow. My first set of nice headphones, so I'm pretty excited.   Has anyone used an E7, or other amp with these particular ones?

I didn't them more, but you might them more than I did.

The beats set up in stores don't sound really good. I got, and returned, the solos recently. Cheap ass <$100 headphones sound way better.

Bump. I did order the AKG's. I will mostly be using them with my iPod, should I get an E5 instead of the E7? If I understand it correctly, the DAC doesn't even work with an iPod...?

Getting my first set of real headphones (on their way), getting an amp, switching over my library to ALAC.   Baby steps
