    Neumann NDH 30

Here are three albums I have been listening to during the last few days. Just beautiful music, high-quality recordings, excellent musicians, with superb headphones (NDH 30, of course): Enjoy!

Here a quote from someone who works for Sennheiser/Neumann (Source: Gearspace):

Yes, I hesitated here, too! And I am surprised that there is not a quick comparison with the Neumann NDH 30 what would be more obvious.

I know that we should not rely too much on frequency response charts but the similarity between the Neumann NDH 30 and the Sennheiser HD 490 looks very interesting. Source: kopfhoerer.de

    Neumann NDH 30

Early evening listen: For me, the Neumann NDH 30 reproduces music as I expect it to sound. I am fully aware that these are professional and not "easy listening" cans but I often think "They sound too smooth, great and wonderful for critical listeing headphones.". Nevertheless, I enjoy...

    Shure AONIC 50 -

The volume steps are too big for me, too, they drive me crazy. I am using the Sound Assistant app on my Samsung smartphone and reduced the step size to the minimum of 1. Unfortunately, this works on the smartphone only, not when I am using the volume of the headphones. I have compared the step...

What's your favorite fatigue-free, laid back, natural and spacious sounding headphone at any price?

I know this might be a bit strange: For me it is the Neumann NDH 30 together with the Chord Mojo 2.

Shops in Europe are targeting September or October or "available in several months". I guess nobody knows exactly when they will be available.

So nice you bought it twice?

Yes, I have two Austrian Audio X-65 headphones. Just in case one gets broken and to have one for traveling and one staying safe at home. I am planning to buy a second Neumann NDH 30 for the same reasons and for playing the digital piano, but these cans are too expensive for me now.

The local shop just around the corner?! That's a dream (musically) and dangerous (financially) at the same time! Prices for headphones seem to differ from country to country quite significantly sometimes. These are the current prices in Switzerland (converted to USD): Headphones Price (USD)...

We can't repeat this often enough: The cable must be on the right side for Neumann headphones if even well-known and great mixing engineers get it wrong:

    Closed backs for Piano

The KAWAI SH-9 may be an option here, but it is more an on-the-ear headphone than an over-the-ear one. Cable length is 2.15 m and the lowest price (in Switzerland) is around USD 110.

Thank you for this correction. I have just updated it in my post above.
