Hey everyone!

I just purchased a new Zune HD and a pair of Klipsch S4s

I have a few questions about each...

For the Zune:
Would it be best to use 320kbps MP3s or Lossless WMA?

For the S4s:
What's a good cook time? I've heard anywhere from 40-100 hours...

For both... What should I expect going away from an iPod Touch and Altec Lansing Backbeat Pluses?

1. Honestly I doubt you'd hear a difference, but for inter-device compatibility I would definitely go for 320 LAME MP3.
2. 100ish.

Eh... better SQ? :p

Well I assumed that was a given

Thank you very much for the info. And I should be cooking these on my Zune not my amp?

I'll look into it before they get here. My Zune should be here first so I'll listen to the stock buds for a few days and prepare myself to be blown away by the S4s

eh i dont think burn in really matters that much in terms of how you do it

i just run it off my spare mp3 player at night or run it thru my icon mobile while i listen with another earphone

I've never spent this much on audio at one time in my life. Don't scare me

I've never owned a pair of earbuds over $10 so this should be good. Just to be safe I shouldn't be expecting them to stomp my Grado SR60s? I know they are two completely different things but I was hoping to take my home listening experience with me, even if it is slightly lower quality.

I wouldn't be surprised if these sounded better than SR60s in some respects, purely because the sound isolation means you can hear much more subtlety.

Looks like I'll have to buy those SR225s I've always wanted sooner than I thought. I don't wanna go plugging my S4s into my amp

amping IEMs isn't a bad thing. I always listen to my Custom TF10's amped.

i guess amping will depend on the iem that are going in

also..if ur coming from $10 earphones you will probably like the S4's..much better than stock

I've heard the S4s are quite forgiving to the source and don't need amping as desperately as, say, RE0s. Coupled with the Zune HD's pretty good HP-out you will probably be OK, and it doesn't have line-out so there's not a whole lot you can do anyway...
