What is the difference between the B-STOCK, OVERRUN, RARITIY versions?

As I understand it, the B-stock headphones are ones with minor flaws. While not perfect, they're still beautiful, and sometimes the people who buy them can barely notice the flaw. I saw a b-stock pair at CanJam and they looked lovely.

Overrun headphones, I believe, are those headphones leftover from a previous batch that went on sale. They might be examples of limited wood releases that didn't sell out previously. This summer, for example, ZMF sold headphones made from burl wood. Here's one of the Vérité that, I guess, didn't sell during the summer:

The Rarity ones are either made from uncommon kinds of wood or in a rare stabilized style. These types of wood were not sold as the stock - or sometimes even the limited runs - of headphones. An example is this Caldera made from Macassar Ebony. This kind of wood is rare, so ZMF doesn't offer large-scale runs of it, just the occasional ones, like this:

Just wanted to give another shoutout to ZMF's amazing customer service.

Had a cable come in with a loose Mini XLR connector. Sent the team a video of it rattling and they sent me a new cable right away.

Yep, they nail it every time. I've had issues in the past, and they took care of me right away without batting an eye.

You ever wonder how we would describe the differences between headphones if even more audiophiles had synesthesia?
Instead of just a scale of warm to bright you could have umami, bitter, sour, sweet, and salty. It’s too difficult to describe sound characteristics on a linear scale. At least with 5 dimensions you’d have a chance.

Hmm … assuming that each ‘dimension’ is independent, the chance of being spot-on with a sonic assessment is 1/32 …

Not sure if this is still the right thread, but since I’m still waiting on those Verite Closed…

I decided to swap the Universal Pads on the Atrium Open to Caldera Ultra Perf pads, and while they haven’t made a huge change sonically to my ears, they are SERIOUSLY comfortable. I feel like they contour to my head really well.

And then, when I was listening to some Elton John, it got my hair standing on end. I’ve never had that happen before, and while I don’t think they’re fully run in yet, they really do have a level of detail and clarity that I think was missing from the Clear MG. I’ll need to compare in a few weeks, but these headphones definitely feel like my go-to set for a good swathe of genres.

Very, very curious how those VCs compare now.

I believe so - if we can define "most" as somewhere between 75-100% of them and take out weird shipper issues that can occur.
