ZMF November 2020

Is there anything worse than Fedex? There should be only coal in your stocking if it takes 2 days to go from IL to CA, then another two days just sitting in Rialto, CA doing nothing. I can walk to Rialto in two days.

Unfortunately we've had delays both for packages to and from us from all carriers. I think the sheer volume is impacting delivery times.

On the bright side, yours were at least shipped, unlike many of us still awaiting shipping notifications!

Yeah...USPS....

I’m sure some of you are young enough not to remember what it was like before Amazon had 2 day delivery.
FedEx, UPS, USPS are all behind due to COVID and the large amount of eComm packages this year.
Had this just been a regular year they would have been able to have a temporary work force to handle the increased volume but they, like many businesses are impacted every time someone calls in because they got infected and need to sanitize the DC because of it.

I’m sorry if I sound harsh but those statements just sound like entitlement....

Our country is so divided right now! Will the pro and con Fedex contingents ever be able to see eye to eye?!?!

Hey all! Tomorrow 12/16 we will have our second release of stabilized Verite Closed sets available! We should have around 18 sets or so and we will be making them live for release at 6PM, with the new sets viewable at 5PM CST.

We only have Verite Stabilized closed this week, and next we will have a few more aeolus stabilized sets as well.

When will the Aeolus stabilized drop? Still this week? Thanks.

We've got around 10 to 15 sets in production that will be available first week of 2021.

Nice! How about the numerous b-stocks and rarity sets ordered last month? Sorry to be a pain, but I was hopeful they would be shipped out by Christmas.

At least I was gifted enrollment in the Jelly of the Month club to tide me over until my Auteur arrives...

Sorry if we were confusing with our ship times in the emails, some b stock sets like the silk auteurs are built from scratch, but are in production. Hopefully we didn't give the impression that we could finish all sets by the holidays.

Rest assured though we are working today and through the holidays to get everything out asap! 😎

Thanks for the update! While the wait has been longer than I was hoping, I will survive! The info on the Silk Auteurs was definitely helpful to temper my expectations, though it sounds like I chose the wrong wood! It would definitely be nice to at least have a tentative ship date for our models though, such as sending a quick email update stating something like "Silk Auteurs are being built from scratch and may not be finished until February" or whatever the estimated production time may be. Even bad news is better than no news!

Happy Holidays and don't work too hard!

We've sent numerous emails out with as much info as we can provide while still being able to handcraft the headphones, as well as spreadsheets for those who bought through ZMF November. I realize the experience through ZMF is different as we are a small handmade shop. Giving very concise timelines can be hard because nothing is coming off the factory line with a standard manufacturing schedule. We have a small team of technicians who craft each small batch of different woods with the utmost care. Each wood type is a different process in terms of how it is finished and handled and beyond that each set of cups have their own unique beauty and challenges. At the end of the day the wait may be longer and less specific, but the process is one of great care and skill.

If you have questions about your specific set - send us an email, we're as responsive as possible for a small team that doesn't have a department dedicated to support. Bevin is on emails and shipping pads today and always happy to help out.

Thanks for the thorough response and I apologize if my post came off as confrontational. I didn't ask for a very concise timeline, but understand your point. At the end of the day, quality is more important than rushing these out.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. It is greatly appreciated!

Hope you and your family have a nice Christmas!

I think Zach should be commended endlessly for his amazing communication through this thread and other avenues. He’s really spoiled everyone with it. I think it should be clear by now that the folks at ZMF do their best to get stuff out as quickly as possible and are subject to shipping woes like everyone else. I really hope people will relax and just wait for their amazing headphones to arrive whenever that is. I know there’s excitement but we’re adults, patience should be practiced.

btw I don’t own a pair yet, I’m just feeling the pain of how hard the ZMF crew must be working to keep up with demand as I’m also a small business owner and I know how it goes. I’ve wanted a pair and been lurking here for a few years after meeting Zach and Bevin at CanJam a few years ago and was instantly sold on the craftsmanship, sound and the people behind them. Eventually a pair of Verite closed will be mine!

I appreciate ZMF working so hard at this time of year, but I hope you guys take some time off as well. Merry Christmas and cheers to all!

This is a great summary Zach. This could be one of those disclosure checkboxes that everyone must acknowledge before placing an order, and then prominently displayed again in the order confirmation. Craftmanship quality takes time.
