ZiShan Z3 Hi-Fi Player Thread

Hi guys, I'm a proud owner of a Zishan Z3 Pro! Just got it a few days ago. It's so tiny, much smaller than what I imagined after looking at some photos and reviews.
Initial impressions are good! Do we hang around here or mostly we just join the Obscure Chinese DAPs thread? I feel jealous a little bit, seeing the Zishan DSD and other DAPs have their own threads very active LOL :)

Well glad to hear it. It's height measures at 50mm so yeah, it's tiny. It's a portable device, so gotta stick portable, yeah?

Well not a lot of people hangs here. I created the thread just to let people know it's specs and less of an "alien" device. We need more participants to make this thread active, but i'm not sure about it. I guess that the more people like the device, the more the thread become active. Feel free to discuss.

Sounds good.
The Z3 looks and feels nice when stacked together with my NX1s, makes for a great portable combo.
I've also learned that it's quite picky when it comes to micro SD card, with less than class 10 cards, it's very buggy and not pleasant to use.

I got a Z3 ak4490 and made less mods to it than to my Z3 ak4493.
Interesting that I prefer the Z3 ak4493 sound. My Z3 ak4490 is already good, but I'll try to improve more if I have time.

Here you go. Z3 with CS43198.
No LPF op amp i see.

Sold for 298 yuan (approx. $50). Will update an international purchase link if there's any.

I think CS43198 is low power and low voltage, this means the dac could be power from the batt. not from a noisy dc converter. From the photo it looks like there are 3 LDOs and 1 DC converter. DC converter probably is only for the opamp, but photo is difficult, we'll see.

I also did the 5V LDO mods in ak4493, got the mod from someone in player.ru, but lost his post and can't give credit to him, well thank you all that share.

BTW, you didn't got the 5V from just bellow the button because of the button cap not pressing?
When you get the CS43198 please also post some photos here.

Simply it was easier for me to do like this ( 5v from the other side of PCB ). Don`t worry about CS43198 photos, I`ll share it surely. Today my Z3 left China and flies to Moscow :)
