It IS good, but it's not as universally liked as the PK3 due to their relative low amount of bass (of which opinions vary, but many believe it lacks sufficient bass power). Otherwise it's clarity and overall neutral presentation is far superior to any other earbuds in its class (not that there are many at that price). Amps benefit these quite well also.

Only Sony stuff I have is the EX082 canalphones, which PK2 beats IMO in clarity and overall SQ (but not in bass, EX082 does have terrific bass quality/quantity). In any case, Yuin is a very safe bet in the earbud category.

Heard all three, but only own PK3 and E888. The only reason I didn't get a PK2 is because I went ahead and got the PK1 instead. While PK3 and E888 is decent earbuds, they are no match of PK2. IMO, E888 is just about the same level of PK3.

The question is stock 888s or filterless 888s- because there is like 200% difference.... (filterless mod 888s WAAAY better)

Actually, I already removed my E888 filter a long time ago

PK3's blew me away and especially at their price level. I can not imagine anything better for $40. They are so good in fact that the guy who replaced my windshield a couple of weeks ago, stole them. So I ordered PK2's to replace them and am anxiously awaiting their arrival. I also have a pair of the OK3's and have been bitterly disappointed by the fact that the right bud has blown in two straight pair after only a few hours of use AND the fact that they never came close to the sound quality of the PK3's I had. From my experience with the PK3 model, and the raves about the PK2's, I feel 100% confident that they will be unparalleled in the sub $100 class.

Just want to also mention that the PK2's to me respond very well to amping, so if you have the money to invest in a E5 or a T4 or a small amp like that, it would prove to be very beneficial (especially to the above controversial bass issue).

Listening to S639 -> T4 -> PK2 right now (my work rig)... very smooth and full.

I have PK2s and PK3s. The PK3s are fantastic. Fit good. Good cables. Very handy if you want light and compact.

I also have PK2s because my wife claimed my PK3s. I prefer PK2s to PK3s because of the increased clarity on mids and highs. I don't find them lacking bass, but they are less than the PK3s. I often use PK2s instead of my HD595s because they have such good sound and are small and light.

I'm thinking of getting some PK3's myself.

How do they fit? I hate foam sleeves on ear buds. Ipod buds are a perfect fit for my use and I'm wondering if the PK's have a similar fit without sleeves.
