I like the rubber skin my Fiio X1 came with. It did not have an odor. I was disappointed when I noticed my Fiio M3 didn't come with one. The problem isn't the concept of a rubber skin, but rather that some low quality rubbers do emit horrible odors. The solution is to make sure that you don't choose low quality rubber for making the rubber skin. Some gyms smell horrible due to their use of low quality rubber mats.
 
Instead of focusing on stickers, the priority should be getting the firmware to work properly. I am disappointed that it has been 11 months since I bought my Fiio M3 and Fiio still hasn't fixed the M3 firmware.
