These are just favorites, not necessarily the "best ever," though of course in the case of Shpongle, they are.

1. Shpongle - Tales of the Inexpressible.
2. Shpongle - Are You Shpongled?
3. Amethystium - Apheleon.
4. Maneesh De Moor - Sadhana.
5. Bahramji and Maneesh de Moor - Call of the Mystic.

I'll be damned if I know what genre they belong to. Amethystium is largely influenced by Karma-era Delerium, Vangelis and Tangerine Dream; Maneesh de Moor has a lot of influences from Future Sound of London mixed with a healthy dose of all things ethnic/tribal; and Shpongle seem to be primarily influenced by LSD, DMT, and psilocybin.

There you go! I can give a big thumbs up for the top two, especially Black Devil Disco Club. I'm going to have to check out the other three.

I will give you some you might of heard or not:

Depeche Mode - Speak & Spell
Ladytron - Light & Magic
Orbital - Orbital 2
The Shamen - Boss Drum

I selected different decades and genres which one can do with Kraftwerk whose tentacles are all over Electronic music. Rightly or wrongly, they're commonly referred to as Electro pioneers (analog synth bass lines, modulated vocals, spacey effets). Electro had quite the club re-birth circa 2000, and there are many revivalist acts on the music scene through the middle of the decade from Figurine (Postal Service's James Figurine) to Ganymede.

I don't get into classifying sub-genres so just trust me, it is all good and is electronic music. If you need to know the style of electronic music then just look them up on wikipedia. Just known that some bands do no like to be pigeonholed and it is impossible to do so too because they cross many sub genres.

Autechre - Ambre
Future Sound of London - Dead Cities
The Orb - Orbus Terrarum
Boards Of Canada - Trans Canada Highway
Brian Eno/Daniel Lanois/Harold Budd - The Pearl

Does Daft Punk count? No one else has posted them, so I won't either. All of my other ones have been posted before, so I'll just add this one:

Ratatat - Classics (I'd highly recommend this for anyone. It's a pretty groovy album. I couldn't think of a better descriptor than groovy.)

Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
Depeche Mode - Violator
Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile
Ministry - The Mind is a Terrible thing to Taste
Radiohead - Kid A

I could go on and on but these are my top five off the top of my head.
