Just a suggestion to OP, when mentioning the favorite singer and vocalist, what if we mention the songs sung that best catches the essensce of the singer that we love so much about? As for me, I definitely want to try to listen to these new singers but don't know where to start!
 
For me, Celine Dion's The Prayer, Have You Ever Been in Love, and of course, My Heart Will Go On.

I was never really a fan of any one singer until Eddie Vedder went solo. I don't know why. I think once removed from Pearl Jam, his stuff really clicked with me. First, Into The Wild hit shelves and now there's a solo album (Ukulele Songs?) on the horizon. Maybe it's the heavy drinking but man, his voice is just awesome.

I am a huge fan of Jeff Mangum. Just listen to Oh, Comely from In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. One of the few vocalists who can convey emotion to me in a true sense.
