Your favourite James Bond 007 incarnation: Sir Sean Connery, Sir Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, ...?

Craig is now the best. Sean Connery was the original and in my mind was always the best. But Craig has much more depth as an actor and frankly takes the reigns in my book. He also acts more like Ian Flemming intended from books.

I never thought I'd see the day, but I think Sean has finally been trumped.

Peirce Brosnan was the worst. It was almost like a comic book. And he looks like a twig - not someone that can run around kicking anyone *****

I loved the books. Worth reading if you haven't done so.

I beg your pardon?

First things first.

Needless to say, 'Casino Royale' released in 1967 was a mess.
......
'Casino Royale', in all fairness, shouldn't be considered a James Bond film.

No, it's not a torture - it's just a punishment.

The inspiration for this post was provided by Crime and Punishment.

Sorry Administrators, Moderators and Head-fi'ers, but I got provoked and lost my cool again!

Kidding, or what?

First of all we consider only the official 007 movies and not any spoofs.

Second, 'The Encyclopedia of British Film', 2003 does not even mention
any other actors besides those in the poll (less Daniel Craig of course).

Would you please come a little closer!

P.S.
Ha, ha, ha, .....

Of course I'm kidding, Duh. Although it is true about David Niven being one of Fleming's top choices to play Bond, Richard Burton and Jimmy Stewart being the others.

Personally I don't think any of them have done Bond as well as the books, oh well.

Yes, you're right, but ...

Ian Fleming Never Wanted Sean Connery as 007

While it has long been known that Sean Connery was not Ian Fleming’s first choice to play James Bond, ...

....

These recent revelations come on the heels of another 50 year old secret: that Ian Fleming had a list of seven actors for the part including Cary Grant and David Niven, but not Connery.

.....

This is all especially interesting, as Fleming certainly warmed up to Connery
during his final years of life, to the extent that in his final Bond novels
Fleming gave 007 a Scottish background.

.....

Fleming’s first choice of actor to play 007 in Dr No, the first Bond book to reach the big screen, was Cary Grant– but he was too expensive. David Niven, James Mason, Patrick McGoohan, Rex Harrison, Richard Burton and Stewart Granger were also on his list. Niven turned down the role because he felt he was too old.
...

Taken from here.

I'll see you on the 007

Connery is my fav, but Goldeneye has to be my favorite bond film. So Brosnan is a close second.

What's with all the colored huge text anyway? I'd have like to have seen Richard Burton have a stab at the role, could have given bond some much needed gravitas.
