Every single headphone I have owned has done that when I first stick them in the jack.  Its like there is an extra film on the jack.

It's true that the IE8/7/6 disconnects and fizzes, but the advantage of such a plug is that it can't be corroded that easily.

Its a tough call for me. I think my favorite is still the Grado GR10. Just a stellar performer, with great detail and lust mids; its just a shockingly musical iem while being analytical...in a way. I've been recently really impressed with the RE272; I could see it becoming my favorite. Time will tell.
