Sep 22, 2003 at 2:13 AM Post #406 of 6,671
A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step (CD, going to get the LP too though)
Thievery Corporation - The Mirror Conspiracy
Ben Folds - Ben Folds Live (CD)
Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (LP)
Blues Traveler - Straight on 'Till Morning (CD)

On the to get list:

I'm just getting back into buying music, both because I can't find everything I want on the internet in lossless compression, and because I actually find that I like having actual legal copies of some of the music that I listen to. I'm also getting into vinyl, and as soon as Tuberoller's shipment of recordss gets here everything on this list will be LPs.

I'll do my best DarkAngel. Those above are all en route. Snail mail is just so slow.

Dream Theater - Scenes From A Memory
Symphony X - The odyssey
Pink Folyd - The Wall
Rhapsody - Symphony Of The Enchanted Land
Pink Floyd - Darkside Of The Moon (SACD)

Dream Theater - Metropolis PT.2: Scenes From A Memory.
I strongly recommand this album to you if you can accept "Progressive Metals". It's actually not so heavy as many general metal cds, but the most important thing is the melody. It' wonderful!

And the whole album is a metal opera, telling a story about a man with preexistence.
Strongly recommanded!

Satriani is a musical genius, but on "Engines of Creation", it is hard to tell what is real guitar and what is keyboards, or guitar played through some synthetic process. It sounds great on the stereo and headphones, but it is surreal.

His newer album "Strange Beautiful Music" is multichannel, and a real winner. But I still enjoy "Engines of Creation"...it is like vodka or cognac...you start out wondering how anyone can like the taste, and then you find yourself enjoying it, in due time (acquired taste). Give it a couple of more listens.
