Shostakovich String Quartets I - XV by the St Petersburg Quartet. What an amazing quartet! Their intensity and idiom is unrivalled! Having owned the Borodin; the Fitzwilliam and Emerson cycles, this one is now my new favourite! It's also the youngest recording of the cycle too. Indispensible!

Discovered Vampire Weekend and purchased both brilliant albums.
Bat for Lashes - Fur and Gold is also a great listen
Living End Singles-bit of a disappointment
MEO 245-Obscure Aussie 80s band that I grew up with. Paid a fair bit for this second hand CD (ebay) hope they are as good as I remember. Reminiscing can be expensive, and looking back at old favourites can be disappointing.

I can't remember the order of purchase off the top of my head; I amassed some new albums over my winter break from college at various times... so:

Darkest Hour - The Eternal Return
Jesu - Lifeline EP
Boards of Canada - Geogaddi
Converge - Jane Doe
Sunn 0))) - Monoliths & Dimensions

Lately I've been on a Japanese jazz kick.

Ordered several CDs of Sam Taylor playing Enka music. Nothing like that smooth 60's sound, bringing up images of a smoky Tokyo bar.
